Survivor South Pacific Airs Episode 4 Tonight

| October 5, 2011 at 5:00 PM EST

Survivor South Pacific airs episode 4 tonight on CBS when tribes Savaii and Upolu face again for the chance at immunity and a step closer to winning the million dollar prize.

After last week’s elimination of Papa Bear from the Savaii tribe they’ll need to rally under leader Ozzy for a hope at beating out Coach’s Upolu castaways.

There haven’t been many Survivor spoilers this season after CBS cracked down on previous season’s spoiler feeder, which turned out to be Russell Hantz. Too bad Baby Hantz didn’t take after his uncle in that fashion too, but I guess we’ll just have to wait to hear what happens next.

There’s a preview for Survivor South Pacific episode 4 if you want to check that out and see what happens tonight on the show. This week’s Redemption Island battle will bring together Papa Bear and Christine so I’m hoping it’ll be Christine’s last chance. The immunity challenge this time around looks pretty difficult as well with castaways being weighted down until they can’t handle the pressure.

Check back later for Survivor results on who was eliminated this week.

DWTS Results: Kristin Cavallari Voted Off

| October 5, 2011 at 9:27 AM EST

Kristin CavallariKristin Cavallari voted off DWTS last night on ABC in a surprising results reveal. The final two came down to Kristin and her partner Mark against Hope Solo and her dancing partner Maksim.

Apparently America just wasn’t as impressed with Kristin as the judges were after they gave her a 24 out of 30 for their samba dance to Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love.”

You can tell the dancing duo was shocked by their elimination and even later admitted it to reporters. Even the judges were surprised as one said he expected them to be in the finale. Lots of surprises so far this season of Dancing with the Stars and there are sure to be even more as the competition continues.

Watch the DWTS results reveal from last night in the video clip below:

Simon Cowell Previews X Factor USA Boot Camp

| October 5, 2011 at 7:45 AM EST

Simon Cowell previews X Factor USA boot camp in this discussion with MTV News. He sat down with LA Reid, his co-judge, and spoke with MTV about how different X Factor was from American Idol, especially when it came to this next down-select.

Unlike Idol’s “Hollywood Week” which Simon referred to as “high-gloss” you’ll get a real look at the singers and the process. Viewers will “see the good, the bad, and the terrible.” Hopefully X Factor will be presenting more of the good, or even great, rather than the bad and ugly.

Unfortunately LA remains silent in the short interview clip, but we’re sure he’s got lots more to say in the coming weeks as he’s quickly becoming a favorite on the judges panel.

Don’t forget that you’ll be able to start watching the boot camp phase tonight on FOX and there are even some X Factor spoilers out there if you want to really get ahead of the show.

X Factor USA Goes to Boot Camp

| October 4, 2011 at 5:35 PM EST

X Factor USA goes to boot camp this week since Simon isn’t content to just follow the formula of American Idol. Instead he’ll march over a hundred singers off to training to see who has it and who has got to be sent home.

Last week on X Factor 2011 the singers audition process concluded and the phase closed. Now we’ve got a month of boot camp, read: training sessions, and then direct mentoring from the judges. You can see the full X Factor USA 2011 schedule.

Checking out the preview clip from FOX’s X Factor (see below), I was rather amazed that the boot camp phase would include choreographed dance routines as part of their evaluation. Perhaps that goes behind the idea that this isn’t just another singing competition show but rather a full package deal where you have to be able to do it all.

LA and Paula are seen in the video warning that the X Factor singers better be “on their game” and better than “good” if they want to make it on to the next round. Of course there are a few favorites peppered in as well. Best of luck to all the singers. Can’t wait to see where they go next!

Big Brother Renewed To 14th Season

| October 4, 2011 at 8:40 AM EST

Big Brother renewed for another season shouldn’t surprise anyone. The CBS reality television series beat out nearly every competitor in its time slot this summer and continued to grow its own ratings, beating out all recent numbers.

CBS made the announcement for Big Brother 14 in 2012 just before this summer’s series’s conclusion. CBS’s VP of “Alternative Programming” showered the reality series with praise as she rightfully should have. It looks like Big Brother could be showing up each summer until either host Julie Chen gets bored of covering it or the studio crumbles to the ground. No reason to quit on something this good.

The next season is expected to commence with casting right away. Applications are now being accepted and audition events should be held in late spring of 2012. We anticipate the hour doors swinging open in early July just like they do each season.
