Hunted on CBS premiered January 22, 2017 for a 28 day manhunt adventure with a big payday at the end for any of the nine pairs of wannabe fugitives set to run anywhere and everywhere they can go through the southeastern United States with a 100,000 square mile playground to run.
18 daring people will set out in pairs with the mission to not be found but that won’t be so easy with a dedicated team of investigators and law enforcement experts working to track them down and bring them to Reality TV justice. Well, CBS isn’t calling Hunted “Reality TV” but rather an “alternative series.”
“Hunted is a compelling new alternative series format, which our Alternative department had been tracking for a while, that feels tailor-made for CBS,” said Glenn Geller, President of CBS Entertainment.
Hunted follows ordinary people attempting the nearly impossible task of disappearing in today’s vast digital world, as professional investigators combine state-of-the-art tracking methods with traditional tactics to narrow down the search area.
From searching their target’s home and scouring Internet and cell phone histories to identifying behavioral patterns, they look for clues to potential hiding places and collaborators that can ultimately lead to capture.
The new series is an extension of the ongoing UK series and CBS looks excited enough about the series to already be casting for a second season. From the first trailer below I’m hoping we’ll see at least these two seasons. Check out the video here and get ready for the premiere.
The debut season premieres on Sunday, January 22nd but then shifts to Wednesday nights with a two-hour episode on the 25th before dropping back to one hour shows each week on Wednesday nights at 8/7c on CBS.
