On American Idol 2012 this week, the top 7 remaining contestants performed ‘songs from this decade’, which was probably a sigh of relief for some of them who have spent most of the season singing songs older than they are.

If I have one constant complaint about American Idol, it is how often they make the contestants sing old music that a large portion of the audience under 30 have never heard of and would prefer not to ever hear again. I am sure that has a lot to do with how much less it costs to secure cover rights for those older songs, but it still gets annoying. Anyway, I digress. Onward with our American Idol 2012: Top 7 recap!

On Survivor: One World episode 9, the remaining players will battle it out in a colorful community challenge titled “When It Rains It Pours” — and it is going to get messy!

In the “When It Rains It Pours” challenge, the Survivor: One World contestants will have to balance on a tiny perch with one arm raised high above their head. Their arm will handcuffed (with velcro) to a robe attached to a huge bucket of watery, brightly colored paint.

When a contestant looses their balance, steps off the perch or drops their arm, splash! All that colorful paint water will land right on their head. Fun! Whoever manages to hold out the longest will win immunity.

The View co-host Sherri Shepherd broke down in huge sobs after she was booted off in the Dancing With the Stars 2012 elimination results on Tuesday night. On Wednesday morning, Shepherd said the tears she shed were “tears of joy, and tears of disappointment [at being eliminated] because I love the entire process.”

After she was eliminated on Dancing With the Stars 2012 on Tuesday, Sherri Shepherd gave an emotional speech about having the courage to face your fears.

“That thing that scares you the most, that makes you say, ‘I don’t know if I can do it, I’m scared’? Run towards it because it’s so amazing on the other side,” Sherri said with tears streaming down her face.

The Top 7 song list for American Idol 2012 on Wednesday night has been revealed. This week on American Idol, the contestants will be performing ‘songs from this decade’ and it looks like a fun line up of tunes. Interestingly enough, two out of the ten songs being performed tonight belong to a former American Idol winner.
