The Associated Press confirms that Winfrey has landed the first interview with members of Whitney Houston’s family since the singer’s tragic death last month, as Oprah will sit down with loved ones that include Whitney‘s sister-in-law and manager, Patricia Houston; her brother Gary; and her daughter Bobbi Kristina.
The one-hour special will allow Bobbi Kristina to “[share] personal memories of her mom and how she would like the iconic superstar to be remembered.” I have no doubt it will be extremely emotional, and hopefully somewhat therapeutic to Bobbi Kristina. It is better for her to handle things by talking with her family and Oprah rather than by turning to drugs and alcohol, which many of her family members fear will happen.
