American Idol video of Jermaine Jones being kicked off of the show. Ryan Seacrest started off Wednesday’s episode on a serious note, explaining, “We discovered information that left us with no choice but to eliminate one of our finalists from the competition.” Seacrest was, as expected, referring to the revelation that Jermaine Jones was disqualified from the competition after producers discovered he had hid his serious criminal past.

Later in the episode, the show shared footage of producers confronting Jones about his failure to disclose his checkered history. Noting they were “surprised” by the information, which included two arrests in 2011 where he gave fake names to the police, the producers said they could’ve helped Jones had he come clean from the start.

American Idol contestant Joshua Ledet has Jennifer Lopez call him “best thing ever on American Idol”, video below. While plenty of attention was focused on the unconventional legal issue that is Jermaine Jones on Wednesday’s episode, there was also contestant Joshua Ledet’s amazing, breathtakingly good performance of “When A Man Loves A Woman.”

The judges went nuts for Ledet, leaping to their feet halfway through his rendition to cheer. They actually looked like they were at a concert. Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson both heaped massive praise on the singer, and Jennifer Lopez went a step further, calling the performance “the best thing I’ve ever seen on American Idol.

Glee’s Darren Criss Has Been Offered X Factor Hosting Gig!

Glee’s Darren Criss has been offered X Factor hosting gig! Marc Malkin at E! News exclusively revealed that Criss was recently offered the hosting job at The X Factor. The Fox show’s original host, Steve Jones, was dumped for the upcoming second season as were judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger.

Mr. Criss politely declined the job, according to a source. Malkin reported that Criss decided not to join Simon Cowell & Co. because of his busy schedule, plus he’d  rather spend his time singing and dancing than hosting. “They were after him,” a show insider said. “But there’s no way he could have done it with everything he has going on.”

American Idol 2012 contestant Jermaine Jones will be eliminated tonight for hiding criminal past. Jermaine Jones will be kicked off American Idol on tonights show, following the revelation that the singer hid his criminal past from producers. The finalist, who, ironically was eliminated earlier in the season before being brought back, allegedly concealed that he was charged with two crimes — one violent — in 2011, and still has warrants out for his arrest.

Jones confirmed his disqualification on Twitter late Tuesday, tweeting, “Awww I will no longer b on the show.”

The Voice Whitney Myer vs. Kim Yarbrough sing to impress Adam Levine, video below. During the battle round matchup on The Voice last night, Kim Yarbrough squared off with Whitney Myer, who sounded off at the start, but then really got things going.

She never could compete with Kim’s voice or pure stage presence, however, so it looked as though she was done from the start. Such is life in a sudden-death duet.Kim wasn’t too much of an opportunity to really showcase her voice, even, but she did the best with what she had, and the two did sound pretty strong as a pair.
