The judges words shocked Joshua and some had never been uttered for any contestant. The Bachelorette & The Bachelor Producer Sued For Racial Discrimination
| May 2, 2012 at 12:21 AM EDTThe Bachelorette & The Bachelor producer sued for racial discrimination. Two African American men who auditioned to star in ABC’s smash reality show have brought a class action lawsuit against the series — and its spin-off The Bachelorette — alleging that the programs intentionally exclude contestants of color. In their filing, Nashville residents Nathaniel Claybrooks and Christopher Johnson argue that in the combined 23 seasons the two programs have aired, a person of color has never appeared in the title role.
Both Claybrooks and Johnson auditioned separately to be the next Bachelor in 2011, a role that ultimately went to Ben Flajnik, who is white. “All applicants of color, including plaintiffs Claybrooks and Johnson, have been denied the same opportunity as their white counterparts to compete for the role of the Bachelor and Bachelorette due to their race and/or color,” reads the complaint obtained by Us Weekly. The shows’ creator, Mike Fleiss, is among those named in the suit brought by Claybrooks and Johnson. Click Here to Continue Reading »

Jaleel White and Kym Johnson were eliminated after failing to win the Dance Duel. The pair went toe-to-toe with Roshon Fegan and Chelsie Hightower, whom the judges unanimously thought deserved to stay in the competition another week.
It came down to a dance duel between Disney star Roshon Fegan, who had to dance in the duel last week against Gladys Knight, and Family Matters star Jaleel White. Demi Lovato In “Final Negotiations” To Be X Factor Judge
| May 1, 2012 at 11:18 PM EDTDemi Lovato in “final negotiations” to be X Factor judge. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that pop star Demi Lovato is closing a deal to join Britney Spears in the seats vacated by Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul after Season 1. The deal is not yet done and could fall apart, but sources say Lovato’s team is in final negotiations for the job.
THR had previously heard that the final judge would be a brunette, and the choice of the former Disney Channel star certainly fits that criteria. X Factor creator and star Simon Cowell is particular about the casting of his judge panels. More important, 19-year-old Lovato would bring with her a younger audience (her current single, “Give Your Heart a Break,” which she recently performed on American Idol, is No. 74 on the Billboard Hot 100).
