Last night on American Idol Season 14, it was finally time for America to start voting! Up first were the guys and we saw some great performances at The Fillmore Detroit. Daniel Seavey is such an adorable kid and I think that will gain him a lot of votes, but was his performance good enough? I don’t think so, but the American Idol judges 2015 seemed to love it! I’m not so sure, but we’ll find out next week when the results on American Idol 2015 are delivered by Ryan Seacrest.

Here we go…it was the guys last night and now it is time for the ladies to take the stage! We start with 12, but only eight will survive the cut next week. Now time for those performances!
Lovey James – She sings “Love Runs Out” by OneRepublic. This is such a popular song and I was not sure how she would handle it. She may be 17 years old, but she is very confident on that stage. She has a good voice and I like the sound of it, but would like to hear it on a different style song.
Adanna Duru – She sings “Rather Be” by Clean Bandit featuring Jesse Glynne. She has such a strong voice and has impressed me up to this point. This is a great song and it starts a little slow, but she kicks it in and does such a good job. She is a little pitchy at times, but I like her.
Alexis Gomez – She sings “Gunpowder and Lead” by Miranda Lambert. She wants to put that Latin twist on country music. I am such a fan of this song, but I think it is a safe choice for Alexis. She had fun with it, but does it show off that great of a voice? Nope.
Joey Cook – She sings “Somebody Like You” by Keith Urban. She wants to bring originality back into the mix. She brings out the accordion and takes on a song by one of the judges??? This is great and she just completely changes the song and is so original and I am a fan!
Katherine Winston – She sings “Safe and Sound” by Taylor Swift featuring The Civil Wars. She is front a small town and said you don’t get many opportunities like this. It is a simple and sweet song and I think she has a good voice. Was this too slow and simple of a song though?
Shannon Berthiaume – She sings “Who Knew” by P!nk. Shannon has never really sang in front of people, but she is making it work on American Idol 2015! I am such a huge fan of Pink and this seemed to show a different side of Shannon. I think she has a good voice, but she gets so loud on some notes and it bothers me. I think this is my favorite performances from her though.
Loren Lott – She sings “Note To God” by Charice. She is an actress and wants to be more than a face in the crowd. I am not even sure what song this is, but it starts slow and then she kicked it in. She has a really good and powerful voice, but I want to hear her sing something else!
Shi Scott – She sings “Umbrella” by Rihanna. She pretty much looks like she is wearing a old school bikini with a sheer coverup over it! I like the deepness in her voice and you wouldn’t expect it from her, but I don’t think it worked on this song choice and it seemed confusing and lost at times. And it seemed like she was searching for air at times.
Maddie Walker – She sings “Love Gets Me Every Time” by Shania Twain. She said people underestimate her, like the judges when they initially sent her home! She does have a good voice, but there is nothing special about it and this performance was just meh.
Sarina-Joi Crowe – She sings “Mamma Knows Best” by Jessie J. Could the fourth time be the charm for Sarina? She never made it this far and this is a great song choice. I was worried, but she owned it and had that divaness about her that made it work and I like her!
Jax – She sings “Bang, Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)” by Nancy Sinatra. This was another one of the performances that I was excited to see tonight because this is such an odd song choice, but could be great. To be honest, I liked it better when she just sat there in the stool and sang. She has a good voice and keep it simple!
Tyanna Jones – She sings “Lips Are Movin'” by Meghan Trainor. This is the other performance that I was beyond excited for. I fell in love with Tyanna last week and want to see her sing this song! I just love the vibe from Tyanna. She has a great voice and does a good job with this song, but it is a little underwhelming to me!
The performances are done for tonight. Who was your favorite?
