Top Chef Duels - Season 1

Last night on Top Chef Duels Season 1, we saw the first battle of the season and it featured Richard Blais against Marcel Vigneron. Both appeared on Top Chef Masters and Richard won the season, so Marcel was wanting to avenge that loss and show he can hang with Richard.

The show consists of three rounds of challenges. The first two have the chefs picking their own dish to cook and hoping that it will throw off their opponent. The winner of each challenge will receive $10,000. Then in the final challenge, the judges give the chefs a challenge to test them. The winner of The Duel will move on to the finale and compete for $100,000.

In a shocker, we saw both chefs lose the dish they picked to cook! How ironic? They pick a dish that their opponent will struggle with and struggle with it on their own. Then in The Duel, the judges wanted these chefs to test all their senses during a three course meal! Even though they seemed to praise Marcel’s dishes the whole time, they turned around and picked Richard as the winner!

He moves on to the Top Chef Duels 2014 finale and Marcel Vigneron was eliminated!

What do you think of the judges’ decision on Top Chef Season 11 last night?
