Last night on Top Chef Season 11, we got to see the chefs make a gumbo in the first Quickfire Challenge of the season. The gumbo had to be a tribute to their heritage and it was judged by legendary chef Leah Chase. You would figure the New Orleans chefs would have a hands-up on this one, but not so much, The winning dish went to Carrie Mashaney, who won immunity for the night.
Onto the Elimination Challenge on Top Chef 2013 Season 11 and it had the chefs divided into five teams, with each of them having to create and operate a food truck. The food trucks would go out and provide lunches to volunteers for Habitat for Humanity. Each truck came up with their own concept and in the end the losing team was the Blue Team. The judges said the worst dishes were between Jason Cichonski and Patricia Vega.
I was thinking the judges would send home Patricia, seeming she has been in the bottom for all three of the challenges to start this season, but they went the other route and sent home Jason Cichonski and he heads off to compete in Last Chance Kitchen.
