The X Factor USA 2013 Recap: Premiere – Season 3 Auditions (VIDEO)

With the summer shows winding down and we are finding out more and more winners from some of our favorites, that also means that falls shows are starting up and the first exciting one is the start of The X Factor USA 2013 tonight! We won’t see Britney Spears or L.A. Reid this season, but we will see Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio joining Simon Cowell and Demi Lovato at the judges’ panel for The X Factor Season 3. I think these auditions on X Factor USA Season 3 are going to be entertaining to watch and I am liking this new group of judges, but I haven’t seen an episode yet, so we’ll see how tonight goes. This season is going to be a change for FOX and for Simon Cowell, as he does not have L.A. Reid on the panel with him to argue with. I think this season Simon might be overruled, as we may see some girl power this season and some judges with a personality to go with their fame!

Who doesn’t love them some Kelly Rowland from Destiny’s Child fame? She can hold her own and I think Paulina Rubio is going to be as fun as Shakira was on The Voice Season 4! The auditions on The X Factor USA 2013 start soon, so follow along with our recap below!

We do have Mario Lopez with us before the live shows. The contestants will be auditioning for four groups this season: Boys, Girls, Over 25s and Groups. They switched that one up this year and it might be a good thing.

First stop, Los Angeles and first up is Carlito Olivero and he is auditioning for the Boys. He came in confident, but seeing the judges in place made him nervous. He says he is singing “Stay” by Rihanna and I am a little nervous for him. No need to be, as he nailed it and did so good. He worked the stage and the crowd and has a great voice. Simon said he likes everything about him. Paulina said she adores him and Kelly said they are witnessing a star. Four yes votes and he is moving on!

Sally Hessnice and she looks a hot mess and she is older and trying to look younger. She is a registered nurse and has been married for 35 years. She is 55 years old and she looks good! She looks like she may have missed some medication, as she smiles on that stage. Yup, we started strong and now needed a hot mess. She may look good for her age, but no voice to go with it on The X Factor USA 2013! Kelly said she wasn’t crazy about the vocal and Simon said 8,000 dogs tried to get into the venue! She is a no!

This sets off a string of very bad auditions and some snarky comments from the judges. I know a lot of these people come on here for camera time, but some think they can sing!

Lillie McCloud is here to win it and she looks like a winner, maybe? WOW! She is 54 years old and has three children and seven grandchildren and she looks like she may be in her late 20s/30s! She has it going on. Okay, when she started singing it clicked….she looks and sounds like Whitney Houston! She can sing and has an amazing voice. We might be seeing a lot of her this season! She brought tears to the judges eyes. Paulina said she was unbelievable and Kelly asked where she has been! Four yes votes!

We move to New Orleans now on The X Factor 2013 Season 3 and the groups are not doing so hot! We look at some quick and bad auditions and some words from Simon Cowell. We have a duo trying to make the groups look better, as Alex & Sierra take the stage. They have a love that makes me want to puke…they come out holding hands. They are good, but the version of “Toxic” they sing is the same way Melanie Martinez sang it for her audition on The Voice. I can’t look past that and am not impressed. How about you? Demi said they are so talented and down-to-earth and they are cute together and magic. Paulina said she believes in them and believes in love. Four yes votes from the judges!

Rion Paige has a disease with her hands and how they are formed. She is also almost blind in her right eye. Let’s get that out of the way because this girl is beautiful. She has an amazing personality, but she is pretty on the inside and outside. She has a great voice to go with her beautiful self and she is only 13 years old! She is so mature for her age and she gets the judges up off their feet and a smile on Simon’s face! She gave me chills on The X Factor USA 2013! Paulina said music heals everything. Kelly said everything about her is so incredible. Simon said she is literally extraordinaire and he is going to remember this audition for a very long time! Four yes votes!
