Last week on The Voice 2015 Season 8, it was time for the Voice Top 12 to perform for your votes and not battle each other for a victory. There were some great performances on Monday night. Some of the performances shocked me and we saw a new side of some of these artists. Some of them shocked me in a bad way, as Sawyer Fredericks seemed to be going through puberty during his performance and it seemed off to me. However, the Voice Results were delivered on Tuesday and the Voice Save was used for Deanna Johnson, which meant Mia Z and Brian Johnson were eliminated!

Here we go…things kick off with the Top 10 taking the stage for a performance together. It was fun and upbeat, but lets get to these performances tonight!
Kimberly Nichole (Team Christina) – “Something’s Got A Hold On Me” by Etta James
Kimberly is absolutely amazing! This performance was a great start to the show and she is such an entertainer. Her voice is so great and she works that whole stage and crowd and she makes it look so simple. She is meant to be on that stage and singing, that is for sure!
Joshua Davis (Team Adam) – “Hold Back The River” by James Bay
Apparently Joshua has some fans out there, as he keeps moving along in the competition. I think he has a great voice, but he is a little boring to me. This song choice was not exciting and it seemed to just drag on. It kicked in towards the end, but I was already asleep before that happened.
Hannah Kirby (Team Blake) – “Shout” by Tears for Fears
Blake Shelton was not sure about this song choice, but she said it is important to let all of your emotions out. I like Hannah and how she just goes up there and has fun. She has a good sound to her voice, but this song seemed to lack her normal spunk that I like. It didn’t let her shine like she normally does, but she had a moment at the end and worked it out.
Meghan Linsey (Team Blake) – “Home” by Marc Broussard
She was pulling out all the stops on this one tonight. Again, it started a little slow for me, but she kicked it in and she hits some huge notes on this one. She was feeling all those emotions and that was an intense ending!
Koryn Hawthorne (Team Pharrell) – “Make It Rain” by Ed Sheeran
Ryan Tedder and Pharrell Williams said they had chills from the first ten seconds of her singing it in rehearsals. Koryn has that rasp and grit in her voice that I love. She feels the emotions of the lyrics and she makes you feel what she is singing. She is not messing around with these live shows and I love it!
Deanna Johnson (Team Adam) – “Somebody to Love” by Jefferson Airplane
Adam Levine said that America saved her last week, so she has to do something that blows them away this week. It was nice to hear her doing something that does not involve the church. However, I am not sure what type of music she should be singing. She has that deep sound to her voice, but I just can’t get behind her fully on The Voice USA 2015.
Rob Taylor (Team Christina) – “A Song For You” by Donny Hathaway
I feel that Rob has come out of his shell with the live shows, along with Koryn, so I am looking forward to this one. While I think he sang a good vocal, I am not sure about this one. He sat down at the piano and slowed it down some. He hits that huge note, per usual, but I was bored with this one.
Corey Kent White (Team Blake) – “Unwound” by George Strait
He said his generation doesn’t really know this song, so he can put his twists on it. He had a lot of fun up there and it was another side of him and I liked seeing it. Blake said he did have a flub on the lyrics, but he barreled through it and that shows a pro.
Sawyer Fredericks (Team Pharrell) – “Iris” by Goo Goo Dolls
He said he has never been through this, but he has always been able to connect to it. Call me a hater, but I have not been impressed by Sawyer the last two weeks. I think he has a great voice, but tonight was a bad song choice. I just didn’t like his voice on it and it just seemed like he was struggling with his breath.
India Carney (Team Christina) – “Run To You” by Whitney Houston
Taking on a Whitney song is a big challenge for anyone, so this could be interesting! She looks beautiful tonight, let me just say that. She delivers another great vocal, which is no big shocker, but she seemed to have some pitch issues at times and I did not like that.
The performances are done for tonight! Who are you voting for?
