The fun begins tonight on The Voice USA 2014, as we get a whole new batch of singers to take the stage and try and get the coaches to hit their buttons for them. While the artists just want one of them to hit their button, we want all four of them to do it because that is when it gets fun. What will the coaches say or promise in order to get these artists to pick them??? The banter between the coaches is what makes The Voice one of the best shows on television and I am so pumped to have it back in my life again tonight!

Here we go…we get the hype going and learn a little bit more about the new coaches on The Voice Season 7. Then it is time to talk about the old coaches Blake and Adam. They show previews and these coaches are fitting in right away and I am loving the chemistry already!!! In true fashion, we start with the coaches taking the stage to perform “Hella Good” and I am loving it….my Mondays are good again!
Now it is time for the first singer of the season Luke Wade. He came from a family of artists: his Dad is a painter and his Mom ran a dance studio, which he danced at as a child. He got into classical music while at the studio. As a child, he was shot in the eye by one of his friends and he lost his vision in his right eye! He sings “That’s How Strong My Love Is” and he gets four buttons very quickly! His love may be strong, but his voice is even stronger…great performance. Adam said he is going to win and he is going to be on his team. Gwen uses the band thing and Pharrell says he has that voice like Justin and Robin. They all fight hard for him, but he picks Team Pharrell!
Up next is Clara Hong, who was born in South Korea and moved to America at the age of eight. She did not speak any English, so she kept to herself and felt dumb. She used music to learn English. She has loved Pharrell since middle school. She gets out one line of the song and Adam, Gwen and Pharrell hit their buttons. Blake never joins in, but she has a strong voice and that indie sound to it. Pharrell said that tone is like silk and Clara said he is like silk! Gwen said that song was so her and that is key and gets up and works the stage with her. Adam writes her a love poem! Pharrell tries his own poem, but Adam’s must have worked. Clara picks Team Adam on The Voice USA 2014!
Next we have Bryana Salaz, who happened to move around the country being a military family. Her Dad is supportive of her music, but got Hep-C liver cancer and is home recovering. She is a cute girl and has a decent voice. She sings “Problem” and I am not sold on the voice yet. I think she is young and needs some training and I see her picking Gwen on this one, as Blake, Adam and Gwen hit their buttons for her. Gwen plays the girl card and Pharrell supports her and it works, as Bryana picks Team Gwen!
Now we have Dennis Bell, who is 52 years old. He works in the dirt contracting business and loves it, but it is time for him to pursue his music career. He was riding on high on music when he was younger, but his Dad had a heart attack and he had to quit the music to provide for his family and run the business. He has a good country voice and Blake comes close to hitting his button, but no luck and Dennis heads back home.
Carson Daly is not in a Kia, but a Nissan to meet one of the singers tonight! What’s up with that? We have Damien, who moved to Los Angeles to pursue his singing career. He got a job working at TSA and was part of the shooting at LAX. After the shooting, he knew he needed to go after his singing career because tomorrow is never a guarantee. He has a very soulful voice and has the emotions going when he sings. He gets all four coaches to turn around and picks Team Adam!
Next we have Allison Bray, who auditioned during Season 6, but did not get a chair to turn around. She prepared herself more and is back to prove she can do this. Last season Blake told her to work on her pitch and she could be a threat in this competition. It must have worked, as she gets Blake to turn right around with Gwen and Adam eventually joins them. They all fight for her, but we all know where this one is going: she joins Team Blake!
Now it is time for Megg and her blind audition. She has been in a ton of musicals and Carson said she has a Gwen Stefani vibe about her. She said Gwen and No Doubt had a huge influence on her and why she started her own band. She has a very deep and raspy voice, but I am not a fan and either are the coaches, as no one hits their button!
Taylor John Williams is up next and he has always loved performing and entertaining crowds. His first love is music, but he works at a doggy day care also. He said he does not have a Plan B and he needs this opportunity on The Voice USA 2014! This was a simple performance and he has a good voice, but he never seems to take it anywhere until the final note. He does get Adam and Gwen to turn around and he picks Team Gwen!
The next singer is Elyjuh Rene, who was three years old when he started singing with his Mom in the church. His Mom is his Momager and they even dressed alike tonight. He is singing a Beyonce song tonight and said the coaches will be surprised when they turn around and see him. To be honest, I did not think he was going to have the greatest of voices. He surprised me and he has some good range in there. He gets Adam and Pharrell to hit their buttons, but he joins Team Pharrell.
Bianca Espinal traveled from New York City to try out for the show. She plays in the subways there with her father and they make some good money. She sings some Jewel and has a decent voice, but it seems pitchy. She let the nerves get the best of her and no coaches hit their buttons on The Voice USA 2014 tonight!
The final artist of the night is James David Carter. He always loved country music, but he chased after sports. In his senior year, he ruined his knee and started focusing on his music. He has made a living as a soul musician for the past 12 years and is ready for his big break. He has nothing to worry about, as all four coaches hit their button for him and he nailed it. They fight for him, but he picks Team Blake, of course!
