The Voice - Season 7

Last week on The Voice USA Season 7, we kicked off The Knockouts and we saw some pretty good battles. Night 1 kicked off with the artists getting a chance to pick their own songs this time around, but get the help of their mentors and key advisor Taylor Swift. The first night started strong with a battle between DaNica Shirey and Katriz Trinidad and it definitely did not end the way I thought! Night 2 was a shorter night, but the competition was still good and the steals continued on. One of those included the battle between Elyjuh Rene and Ricky Manning for Team Pharrell, who surprised me by picking Elyjuh the winner, but Ricky remained in the competition thanks to Gwen Stefani.

The fun and the battles begin soon, so follow along with our recap below and see the videos of The Knockouts when available from NBC!

The following post contains videos from tonight’s episode of The Voice 2014 Season 7 Knockouts. Don’t want to see them yet or see who went home on The Voice USA Season 7 tonight, then don’t look ahead!!!

Here we go…

Team Blake: Allison Bray vs. Taylor Brashears
Allison kicks things off and she has a great country voice going for her. She has that deep, rasp going on and it works for her. Maybe a little too over-the-top with some of the notes. Taylor is up next and this is a great performance. She has a very good voice and it is a simple performance, but she shows off a very good voice.

Winner: Taylor Brashears and no steals for Allison, so she is headed home

Team Gwen: Beth Spangler vs. Ryan Sill
This is a battle of the pretty people! Ryan kicks things off and he is just so pretty. He has a very good voice and it has that R&B sound to it. He has some good control and shows off some good range. Beth is up next and sings “Too Little, Too Late” and she has this sound to her voice and it seems like she is struggling to get out the words. She then hits a huge note and you are like, what???? She definitely kicked it in at the end.

Winner: Ryan Sill and no steals for Beth, so she is eliminated

Team Pharrell: Jean Kelley vs. Menlik Zergabachew
Things kick off with Menlik, as he sings “Could You Be Loved” and this could be a good one. I love his style and his vibe and loves how he brings in the reggae sound to his music. Jean is up next and sings “Chandelier” and I think I am just over this song. Everyone sings it on every show and they need to find a new one. Because of that, I would go with Menlik.

Winner: Jean Kelley and no steals for Menlik, so he is eliminated!

Team Adam: Blessing Offor vs. Chris Jamison
Chris kicks things off singing “(Sittin’ On The) Dock Of The Bay” and I am curious about this song choice. He does show off some range and hits some high notes, but it was a safe choice and nothing special. Blessing is next and sings “Your Body Is A Wonderland” and I loved how he made this song his own. He totally changed it and I loved it!

Winner: Chris Jamison and no steals for Blessing, so he is eliminated!

We get some quick results for Team Adam, as Matt McAndrew beat Rebekah Samarin and no steals, so she is eliminated and Matt moves on to the Live Playoffs to complete Team Adam!

Team Blake: Grant Ganzer vs. Reagan James
Reagan starts it out and sings “Hit ‘Em Up Style (Oops!)” and I am liking this song choice. She has a strong voice and seems like such a weird choice for Team Blake! She has some good sounds in there. We have not seen much of Grant this season, but he sings “Apologize” and shows some real emotion, but he seems nervous and pitchy and that’s a shame.

Winner: Reagan James and no steals for Grant, so he is sent home

Team Gwen: Anita Antoinette vs. Craig Wayne Boyd
This is going to be a tough one for me, as I enjoy both of these singers! Anita is up first and sings “Rude” and I love her voice and vibe! That reggae sound is popular this season, but will she survive the cut? Craig is up next and sings “Can’t You See” and he just nails it. This was so solid and I thought he should have won his battle and this shows me why!

Winner: Anota Antoinette and Blake wants Craig back on his team, so he steals him away and Craig joins Team Blake
