The Amazing Race 2014 Live Recap: Week 5 – Team Brenchel In Trouble!

Another week on The Amazing Race 2014 and we have the teams making their way from Malaysia to Sri Lanka and it might not be a fun trip for one of the teams on The Amazing Race All Stars 2014! Trying to make up time, one of the teams takes a huge risk, but will it pay off? Find out during our The Amazing Race 2014 Live Recap and see who went home on The Amazing Race 2014 tonight with us!

Last week on The Amazing Race Season 24, the teams stuck around Malaysia and had some fun in the club, but it turned out to not be so much fun for Rachel & Brendon and Luke & Marie, as both teams were stuck in the bar trying to mix drinks perfectly (which I will admit looked very difficult to do). After hours of trying, Luke & Marie finally got it done and checked in with Phil Keoghan. Brendon & Rachel finally finished as well, but it was as the final team and checked in with Phil last. However, it was a non-elimination leg of the race and they survived for another week!

Thanks to March Madness, we have a late start tonight! The Amazing Race 2014 kicks off at 8:41/7:41c tonight! Come back for live recap then!!!

Here we go…things kick off with Jet & Cord starting things off tonight. Teams will fly 1,500 to Sri Lanka and head to Gangaramaya Temple for the next clue! They get their tickets and have a direct flight that will get them there at midnight. Luke & Margie’s taxi driver gets lost and will head to airport. Rachel & Brendon get to travel agent and they are told the flight is booked. They take a flight to Singapore with a 30-minute connection flight! The guy said they can’t do it, but they book it anyway to make up the time. Margie & Luke get to airport and find out the flight is booked and try standby for the flight. They pass on the flight to Singapore. All the other teams will be on the direct flight. Rachel & Brendon get to Singapore and are running to the gate, but Brendon drops his bag and it might cost them! Well, 30 minutes was enough and they made the connecting flight and are ahead of the game! Meanwhile, Luke & Margie did not get standby and will sit in airport and wait for next flight!

The teams are in Sri Lanka now and heading to the Temple. Rachel & Brendon get there and find out it doesn’t open for another four hours, so everyone gets there except Margie & Luke!

The temple finally opens and the teams start getting their clues on The Amazing Race 2014. They will now travel to King Coconut Stand. All the teams are on the train and heading to the stand, so it looks like Margie & Luke might get screwed over on this one. The other teams take these fast, little taxis and get to the clue, which is a Detour: Fishing Pole, which they have to climb on fishing stilts and both catch a fish, or Spin Control, which is learning a dance and spinning plates at the same time. The teams are mixed on which one they pick!

They are all struggling with fishing, but Connor catches the first fish! John caught one and getting it in the bag, but it fell off the line! Dave catches a fish and they get the clue, which is to head to Trendy Connections Garment Factory for the next clue! Flight Time & Big Easy are used to spinning the basketballs, so the plates are no issue for them and get it done right away and are in second place. Leo & Jamal are right behind them after finishing their dance!

Jet & Cord both catch fish, so they head out to the next clue. Jen & Caroline get the dance done and are in fifth. Brendon can’t get the plates spinning and keep doing it over and over again and Jessica and John can’t catch a fish!

Brendon & Rachel finally get the dancing right and head out. Jessica & John can’t catch a fish and want to switch, but they got screwed over their first season when switching Detours, so they are staying put! They finally decide it has been too long, but they switch to spinning the plates. Luke & Margie get blessed and are now heading out to the Detour.

Flight Time & Big Easy get to the next clue and it is a Road Block, where they will have to sew a shirt together! Dave & Connor get there next and then Jen & Caroline. Jessica & John try the dance and neither of them can dance, so they must do it again! No teams can sew, but Leo is feeling confident. Jessica & John get the dance correct and are heading out as Luke & Margie get on the train.

Brendon & Rachel get to their Speed Bump and they must silk screen the Sri Lanka flag onto 15 t-shirts. Dave and Jen decide to work together on the sewing and maybe can get it right together. Dave tries and his shirt is not right, so he has to do some fixes and same for Jen. Dave tries again and it is correct, so they head out! They will head to the Colombo Rowing Club, which is the Pit Stop for this leg of The Amazing Race 2014! Jen gets it done and they head to the Pit Stop!

Leo is having fun with the local sewers and I am liking the Afghanimals this season. Brendon and Jessica are working together. Cord gets his shirt right, so they head to the Pit Stop. Meanwhile, Dave & Connor check-in with Phil as the first team and each win $5,000. Caroline & Jen check-in as second team.

Leo is now done with his shirt and it is correct, so they head to Pit Stop. Luke & Margie are now heading to the Detour in their taxi on Amazing Race All Stars 2014. Flight Time then gets out the basketball and spins it around to entertain the crowd. Big Easy said this inspires him and gives him new energy. Jet & Cord check-in with Phil as third team. Jessica has her shirt done and it is good, so they head to the Pit Stop. The Afghanimals check-in with Phil as the fourth team.

Brendon has his shirt done correctly and then Big Easy is right behind him and is correct, so they all head out. Jessica & John check-in with Phil as fifth team. Flight Time & Big Easy check-in as sixth team and Brendon & Rachel check-in as seventh team! The day passes and it is dark, as Luke & Margie check-in with Phil as the final team and they have been eliminated on The Amazing Race 2014 tonight!
