Survivor 2014 Recap: Premiere – Three Tribes For Season 28

No returning players on Survivor 2014, as the producers and Survivor host Jeff Probst have found some fresh blood to battle it out for a chance at being the winner of Survivor Cagayan 2014! The 18 new castaways will be split into three tribes for Survivor Season 28: Brains, Brawn and Beauty. Which aspect of life will help you win this game? That is what the producers are hoping to find out, but a big part of the game is the social aspect of it and you can have any three of those qualities and still be social! It is going to be interesting to see how this all plays out and if the castaways are going to figure out how the game is setup this season. They will arrive in the three different tribes, but also arrive in three different modes of transportation: a truck, helicopter and speed boat. The producers are going to be dropping little hints to get them to figure out who is who and what separates the tribe from the others.

Here we go….we see a little bit of the castaways and hear them talk as they travel to the island, but then they all arrive in front of Jeff and he tell them that they have been divided into three tribes based on the three of the qualities it takes to succeed in this game: brawn, brains and beauty. The castaways discuss what tribes they are in and are having fun with it. Jeff asks them to choose a leader for their tribe and must pick it now. LJ is leader for Beauty, Sarah for the Brawn and David for the Brains.

The leaders will now decide who the weakest is in their group! LJ picks Morgan, Sarah picks Trish and David picks Garrett. The three castaways are not out of the game, but they will take a chopper to each of their camps and make a decision for the entire tribe! The other castaways head to the new camps, but what will they find based on the other three picks?

Over at the Brains Tribe, Garrett arrives and he can either pick a second bag of rice for the tribe or get a clue for the Hidden Immunity Idol. Since David quickly picked Garrett and said he was a threat, Garrett goes on the hunt for the idol with the clue. Trish arrives at Brawn Camp and she is struggling with what to do. She passes up the idol and picks the second bag of rice, but hopes she doesn’t regret it. Morgan gets to Beauty Camp and she takes the clue and is going to hold a grudge against LJ for picking her!

I guess time for a show, as Garrett gets in his undies and goes in the water! He said hide and seek is not his strength and flops around in the water, but he does find it and now he is on a mission to get rid of David! Morgan is looking for the idol, but the other tribe members arrive and see her out climbing the rocks! She comes back and lies and said her choice was to pick the rice and everything over comfort stuff. She thinks she pulled one over them, but LJ thinks she is too calm for someone that got voted off first. Brice knows that Morgan is scorned, so he is going to team with her on Survivor 2014!

The Beauty Tribe is trying to setup camp and get everything in order. They think everyone is doubting them, but they got that fire going and they are loving their tribe. The Brawn Tribe arrives at camp and Trish tells them she could look for idol herself, but she took the second bag of rice. Will this help her later on? They head out and start building camp. Cliff said he used to play a little basketball, but Woo knows who he is and said he has some of his basketball card. He comes out to everyone about it and no one seems to care about it and they just like having a tall guy on the tribe! Sarah is a cop and thinks Tony is a cop and looks like one, but he denies it and said he works construction. He thinks he would be a threat in their eyes as a cop, so he wants to hold it in. Sarah is not sure what he does and doesn’t trust him.

The Brains Tribe arrives and Garrett avoids the choice issue. They start working on the shelter and J’Tia is a nuclear engineer and said she has a plan. However, she is coming off as bossy and the tribe is not responding well to her. Spencer is not happy David chose Garrett for the weakest and he is someone they need around to win challenges. The shelter is not working out and the castaways are all over J’Tia, but she is giving out orders and not backing down!

Immunity Challenge: they will maneuver a cart through an obstacle course and at each tower they will get a key to unlock a chest. Put the chest on the cart and get all three and then disassemble cart and put through opening and then reassemble the cart and get the carts to the end, where two people will use the puzzle pieces in the chests to put together a dragon puzzle. The first tribe done wins immunity and a fire-making kit. The second tribe done wins flint and the third tribe goes to Tribal Council.

The Brawn Tribe is going off to a good lead and the Brains Tribe is struggling with the chains on the chests. The Brawn Tribe gets through the wall and going through the last obstacle. The Brains Tribe can’t get through the wall and is busting open chests and puzzle pieces falling out! Both tribes working on the puzzle and Brains is trying to get their chests to the end! The Brain Tribe gets to the end finally, but the other two tribes have a good lead on them. Beauty Tribe wins immunity and Brawn gets second and Brain Tribe is not even close to finishing and will head to Tribal Council and it looks like it could be J’Tia heading home on Survivor 2014?

Back at the Brains Tribe, David and Kass are talking and he wants David gone because he is afraid of him. Kass thinks J’Tia has not been pulling her weight around camp and wants her to go home. J’Tia talks to Kass and she said that J’Tia has not been pulling her weight and she needs to start scrambling.

J’Tia, Tasha and Garrestt talk and they think David is more of a strategic threat and he is going to try and get Spencer on board. Spencer is worried about no idol clues and David could have found it, so he thinks they should vote J’Tia out and be safe and not have them use the idol. However, Garrett has the idol, but not telling anyone!

Tribal Council on Survivor Cagayan 2014: J’Tia knows she is a threat. She said she did come off as bossy, but her plan did not work. David said J’Tia said she was a nuclear physicist or nuclear bomb builder??? She cuts him off and says she is a nuclear engineer. I don’t like David and he needs to go! J’Tia said David should be voted off. Time for the vote! Jeff tallies the votes and no one plays the Hidden Immunity Idol.

Votes: J’Tia, David, J’Tia, David, David and David! Wow, I am shocked, but a blindside on the first Tribal Council and David has been voted off Survivor 2014 and no Redemption Island this season, huh?

The next day arrives on Survivor Cagayan 2014 and the Brains Tribe is a little mellow. Garrett said he is not having fun playing Survivor right now. He is not used to manual labor and not eating and sounds like a whiny bitch right now! Kass was blindsided by the elimination of David, so Garrett and Spencer talk to her about bringing her in. We have Tasha and J’Tia against Garrett and Spencer and the swing vote is Kass. She shakes on a final three deal with her and Garrett and Spencer, but is playing the field right now.

Over on the Brawn Tribe, Cliff and Woo head out to do some fishing in the boat. He thinks Woo is his wingman, but the boat tips over and out they go! Since Cliff is liked on the tribe, it looks like he will be a threat. On the Beauty tribe, Brice said people are playing dumb and he is on to them. Alexis is flirting and not all the crayons are in the box for Jefra. Morgan thinks she can get Jeremiah in her back pocket.

For the Brawn Tribe, Trish is bringing in firewood and calls out Lindsey for not getting any wood and she needs to help out. Lindsey cannot stand her or her voice. This could get ugly real soon between the two of them. Tony trusts Trish, but they might be on the outskirts with the other tribe. As he builds the shelter, he is building a cubby shack to hide and listen in on the others talking in the shelter! His main target is Cliff.

Immunity Challenge: they will swim out to a large bamboo cage and jump in the water to find four fish traps. They will push them through the cage and swim all four back to shore. One tribe member will use the pieces of the puzzles in the traps to complete a puzzle. First tribe done wins immunity and a fishing kit. The second tribe wins immunity and a slightly smaller fishing kit. The third tribe heads to Tribal Council. Cliff sits out for Brawn and Brice for Beauty.

The castaways head out and Brains is waiting on J’Tia before climbing over the cage! Brawn is in in the lead with Brains falling behind again. They start untying knots to get the gate released and get the fish traps out. Brains Tribe comes back and gets back to shore first! J’Tia is working on the puzzle as Brawn gets to shore and Beauty is doing nothing in the water. Sarah is working on the puzzle for Brawn and Tony has a deep cut on his toe from the traps. Sarah is moving along quickly on the puzzle and J’Tia has one freaking piece done as Beauty comes up with their pieces. Sarah finishes and Brawn wins immunity! LJ is now working on the puzzle for Beauty and has four pieces done! You would think a puzzle is where the Brains would thrive, right? LJ gets it done and they win immunity and Brains is headed to Tribal Council again and this is a no-brainer, correct???

Over on the Brawn Tribe, we have Tony with a sliced foot and Sarah with a sliced finger. They get their fishing kit and Tony goes through the basket thinking there is a clue to the Hidden Immunity Idol. He was right, as he finds it! He reads it and heads out to find it and he can’t believe it himself, but he found it!

The Brains Tribe gets back and it seems clear that J’Tia should be the one voted off tonight on Survivor 2014. Garrett throws out an open forum for everyone to discuss who to vote for. David wants no side conversations and wants them all to sit together until Tribal Council! Tasha is having none of it and wants to talk with Spencer and J’Tia, but he says no. She goes off on him and said that is how you play the game. He said he doesn’t want to do that and she said quit then! I guess we see why Garrett is on Brains and not Brawn, huh? He may have all the muscles, but he wants to do nothing.

Tasha is not having any of it and she is going to scramble and she wants to be top dog. She talks with Kass and said they can do this. Spencer is pissed at Garrett and thinks he is a moron and he ruined it. Tasha said this is their only chance and they have the numbers to Kass, but here come Spencer and Garrett to make sure they don’t strategize. They left J’Tia alone and she goes crazy and dumps all their rice on the fire!!! I guess she is going out with guns blazing, huh? Kass wants to know how they got the criteria for Brains Tribe. She was going to approach J’Tia about aligning together, but not now!

Tribal Council: they discuss the open forum and how it was a bad idea. Tasha said she knew J’Tia is volatile and why she didn’t want the open forum. Garrett then announces that he is in an alliance, in error. Kass said she is not in an alliance with them, but Garrett said it is him, Kass and Spencer and Garrett is an idiot! He keeps running his mouth and telling all the secrets. I guess it is good poker players don’t talk, huh? And how did he get on the Brains Tribe? Time for the vote on Survivor 2014. Jeff tallies the votes and no one plays the Hidden Immunity Idol.

Votes: J’Tia, Garrett, J’Tia, Garrett and Garrett and he is shocked, as is Spencer! Two Tribal Councils and two blindsides on Survivor Cagayan 2014! Garrett just ran his mouth too much and whined too often and he had to go. Wise choice, Brains!
