MasterChef 2014 Season 5 Spoilers - Week 13 Preview 3

Last week on MasterChef 2014 Season 5, the home cooks headed to the football field and faced a team challenge of creating all the concessions for a football game! While Jaimee struggled as team captain, her team still made some good food and that was enough for them to squeak out a victory. At the Pressure Test, it was Leslie, Victoria and Ahran faced with making three different types of prawn dishes. The twist: two of the home cooks would be eliminated! This was tough to watch, as Victoria and Ahran were two of my faves in the contest and, of course, they were both sent home and Leslie is there for another week!

Watch the Team Challenge and Pressure Test tonight on MasterChef 2014 with us! Who made it through tonight on MasterChef 2014 Season 5 and who was sent home? Find out in our recap that follows!

Here we go…we are in the MasterChef Kitchen and here come the judges and home cooks!

CHALLENGE: The home cooks will be cooking in pairs and they will be picking their own pairings. They all want Elizabeth. The pairs will be:

  • Jaimee and Daniel – wings
  • Courtney and Christian – legs
  • Elizabeth and Leslie – oysters
  • Willie and Cutter – breasts

For the challenge, the home cooks will be each making a dish with a part of the chicken. There are boxes in the pantry and the teams will randomly draw for the part they are cooking. Two highest teams are safe and two lowest teams will face the Pressure Test. They have five minutes in the pantry, but won’t know what chicken part they have until they come back in the kitchen!

The home cooks get their parts and have 45 minutes to create their dish. Joe Bastianich is not happy that Jaimee and Daniel are leaving the chicken on the bone. Chef Ramsay is not happy with chicken and dumplings from Willie and Cutter, which was Cutter’s idea! It looks like they’ll have 20 minutes to come up with a new dish? The time runs out and the judges will be tasting the dishes.

TASTING –

  • Leslie & Elizabeth – Joe said it is kind of a dreamy dish. Chef Ramsay said it looks beautiful and it is delicious and great job.
  • Jaimee & Daniel – Graham said it is a great dish and has crispness to the skin, but he wanted it cooked longer. Great job with what they were given. Joe said it looks like a nice dish he would get in an airport restaurant. He said the chicken is crispy and good, but didn’t blow him away.
  • Cutter & Willie – Chef Ramsay said the chicken breast is bland and the asparagus has the butt on them and he does not expect to see this at this point in the game and is not impressed on MasterChef 2014.
  • Christian & Courtney – Graham said awesome and really good job and a dish he would love to sit down and have for dinner. Chef Ramsay said the chicken has a good sear to it, but wanted a better presentation.

RESULTS: The judges discuss all four of the teams. The two safe teams are Elizabeth & Leslie (no Pressure Test for Leslie tonight on Master Chef 2014) and Courtney & Christian. That means Daniel, Jaimee, Cutter and Willie will be cooking in the Pressure Test tonight!

PRESSURE TESTS: They will start with four home cooks and the winner of each round is safe until it is head-to-head and the loser will go home! Each round will feature the egg, the opposite of the chicken!

ROUND 1 – They will need to perfect the perfect poached egg and have only one egg to work with! The home cooks are working on their eggs and Cutter breaks the eggs as he plates it! How is this guy still in the competition?

TASTING – For Jaimee, Chef Ramsay said the egg is poached beautifully and great job. For Willie, Graham said it tastes like a delicious egg and not the vinegar he was worried about. For Daniel, he broke the egg in the water and no yolk! For Cutter, he broke the egg, but Chef Ramsay said it tastes nice. The judges discuss and Willie wins Round 1 and is safe tonight on MasterChef Season 5!

ROUND 2 – They will be making egg yolk ravioli with a soft egg yolk on the inside! Joe said this is a tough dish to pull off. The judges think that Cutter is manhandling the ravioli. It is a race, but all three home cooks get their dishes done.

TASTING – For Jaimee, Joe said nothing! For Daniel, Graham said it is not sealed properly and it starts cooking the egg. For Cutter, Chef Ramsay said the shape looks great. The egg looks good, but no words from him! The judges discuss and Cutter wins Round 2, so he is safe tonight!

FINAL ROUND – It is down to Jaimee and Daniel and one of them will be going home tonight. They will be making a cheese souffle in 40 minutes! Both of them get two attempts in the oven and they both seem to cooking icely. They get them done and they look so much alike! This is going to be a tough one. The judges taste both of the souffles and don’t say anything while tasting.

RESULTS: The judges discussed the two dishes and they both had pluses and minuses, but only one could be moving on. The winner is Jaimee, which means that Daniel has been eliminated tonight!
