Here we go…as usual, we see the contestants pack and head out to Hollywood. They are all excited now, but that will soon change! The 212 hopefuls land in LAX and get on the bus and think they are heading to the hotels, but nope! They are being brought to this hangar on the airport grounds and will be singing for the American Idol judges 2014 and either continue on or go home!

The judges come out and said they have been reviewing the audition tapes and they want to hear some of them sing and there will be cuts today! They wait and see if their name is called! First person up is Johnny Newcomb and Harry wasn’t too sure about him. He sings “Pumped Up Kicks” and I am liking it. With all the pressure, he sounds pretty good. No decision from the judges…yet. Connor Zwetsch, Ali Jane Henderson, Caitlin Johnson and others took the stage. These were people the judges were on the fence about and Jennifer said now we see why.

Adam Roth was the guy wearing the white ensemble and humming and feeling in a good place for his audition. He plays the keyboard and seems to screw up on that, but Jennifer thinks his vocals were there and he has something going on. What do you think?

Tristen Langley is our second generation Idol and Harry wasn’t sold on him during his audition and feels if his mom wasn’t there, so he has another chance to impress him in the hangar. Harry wanted to hear Morgan Deplitch sing something a 16-year-old would sing, so she sings a younger song and it was not done well. The nerves are really getting to these singers and the judges are not impressed and want to see their A-game!

The judges give a speech of wanting to see something more from these singers and then call up Eric Wood and he nails it. He actually gave me chills. Neco Starr has the look of Bruno Mars and nails his song. Khristian D’avis seemed to have a slight accent in Detroit, but then it disappeared as the audition went on. She is the final singer of the night and did not impress the judges.

Jennifer asks everyone who has not sung yet to raise their hands. They are safe tonight on American Idol 2014! That means 160 of them are safe and the remaining 52 singers wait for the judges to decide their fate. The judges make their decision and separate them into two different groups. Two buses and one is going to the hotel and one is going back to the plane for home! How crazy is that???? They all sit and wait to see where they are headed. Group 1 arrives at the airport and they have been eliminated. Some on the bus: Caitlin Johnson and Tristen Langley. Bus 2 is safe and headed to Hollywood, which includes Eric Wood and Neco Starr. 20 in total will join the 160 already in Hollywood.

We are now at Day 2 of Hollywood Week on American Idol 2014. They will be doing it at Dolby Theater and the families are watching from the balcony. They will come out in groups of ten and sing a capella or with an instrument. Group 1 is headed out and Majesty Rose York kicks things off. She has a good spirit and a good voice and so strong. Also in her group is Samantha Calmes (she sang the theme to The Jeffersons), John Fox (youth leader) and Brandy Neelly (strong country voice). The three of them make it through, but Samantha is headed home.

Group 2: Spencer Lloyd (Jennifer thought he was so pretty and his voice is way better for “Say Something” and kills it). He is the only one highlighted in that group, but he makes it through.

Group 3: Austin Wolfe (she wants to perform in front of people that actually want to hear her sing), Bria Anai (sparkly lipstick) and Selena Moreno (auditioned with her twin sister, but she only made it through). Jessice Meuse, Austin and Bria make it through, but Selena and some others are headed home.

Group 4: Sam Woolf (he was one of the first auditions of the season in Boston with his Grandpa), Keri Lynn Roche, Ayla Stackhouse and CJ Harris. We see them all go through but Ayla.

***Just a side note, but there are many more singers that are making it through from this round, but the names I am mentioning are the ones that are being highlighted tonight on American Idol Hollywood Week 2014!

Group 5: Alex Preston (sang an original song in Salt Lake City), Brian Watt, Jesse Roach and Sydney Arterbridge. Brian and Sydney were eliminated tonight on American Idol Season 13.

Group 6: Kenzie Hall and Quaid Edwards (his mom is a country singer who toured with Keith back in the day). Kenzie makes it through and the others go home.

Group 7: Ben Briley (his wife told him to do this), Briston Maroney (his grandma told him he was good) and Dexter Roberts (he wants this and thinks he can win). All three make it through.

Group 7: Rachel Rolleri, Casey Thrasher and Maurice Townsend. They all make it through! We also see George Lovett, Tiquila Wilson, Emily Piriz and Malcolm Allen make it through to the next round. Love me some Tiquila!

Now time to look at Munfarid Zaidi is an entertainer and fun to watch, but can he sing well enough to make it through. Ethan Thompson and Austin Percario (who left his stage mom at home) also sing and all three of them make it through.

Group 8: Caleb Johnson (made Top 40 in Season 11), Stephanie Hanvey and Kristen O’Connor. They all make it through. Emmanuel Zidor thinks he is fierce and does this better than his day job and the judges agree, as they send him through to the next round.

Group 9: Briana Oakley and Jesse Cline and they both make it through.

While things have been going well for a lot of people, the road ends for some singers and we take a look at them.

Keith London sings “If I Were A Boy” and it has Jennifer in an uproar. She is all confused and her and Harry talk during his whole performance, which is actually very good. They ask him to sing another song and he sings “Same Love” and he nails it again. They send him through!

It is time for the final group of the day on American Idol 2014. Malaya Watson, Jena Asciutto and Savion Wright (who sang an original song he wrote for his brother who died 2 1/2 weeks ago). They had great performances and all of them make it through to the next round.

After a day of singing, they started with 160 contestants and only 104 of them made it through to Group Day, which comes tomorrow! The judges will hand out song lists and they need to form groups of three or four! The singers disburse and try and form their groups!

Let the drama begin, as Group Night has begun on American Idol 2014. We see Casey Thrasher, Dexter Roberts and Ben Briley form a quick group and start working. The other groups are forming and they are all fighting to get with the vocal coach. Jessica with the pink hair is struggling with her group, as one member is getting sick and losing her voice and the other one can’t get the harmonies.

We have singers not finding groups to join and groups already fighting. The sick guy in Jessica’s group quits because he is too sick, so Jessica and Matthew head out to find new groups on their own! This is late in the game, so will they find anyone to take them on? Matthew finds a new group and feels awesome about it. Jessica is struggling, but it is 3:00 am and most groups are calling it a night. Emmanuel keeps losing group members and only down to two, so no clue what he is going to do!

It is now the morning of Group Day and Emmanuel still has not found his lost group member. She went missing and they finally found her in her room and it is major drama. We have final dress rehearsals going on and these groups are not sounded prepared AT ALL! They are forgetting lyrics and have no harmonies going on. Loud and Fierce rehearses and can’t remember the lyrics. One member is pissed they spent so much time on dancing and not on learning the words. Sam Woolf is not used to the dance moves and is struggling. We have another group with a sick member who is going to sleep and see if she can perform when they are supposed to take the stage. This is all a hot mess, but that is Group Day on American Idol, right?
