American Idol 2014 Spoilers: Week 2 – Best Performances From Top 8 (VIDEO)
| April 12, 2014 at 12:41 PM EDTIt was a second week of the Top 8 on American Idol 2014 taking the stage and performing for our votes after the American Idol judges 2014 (Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick, Jr.) used their save last week on Sam Woolf. Well, the Top 8 took on 80’s Week on American Idol Season 13 and it was a night of crazy hair and neon colors, but which contestants had the best performances on American Idol 2014? Check out our thoughts in our American Idol 2014 spoilers below!
You may not agree with me, but here are my picks for the best performances:
Sam Woolf – “Time After Time” by Cyndi Lauper
I am going to include Sam in the best performances because he did impress me this week. He was almost voted off last week and needed to step it up and I think he did with this performance and the duet with Alex Preston. I was not sure of this song choice for Sam, but he seemed to enjoy himself more during the performance and his voice sounded good.

Alex Preston – “Every Breath You Take” by The Police
The judges on American Idol Season 13 may have not been fans of this performance, but I definitely was. The reason why people love Alex is because he takes a song, rearranges the melody and makes it his own. This is a song most people know and love, but he switched it up and did a great job of making it an Alex Preston song. The judges can hate on him for what he did, but I loved it!
