We had a night of performances on American Idol 2014 last night, as the Top 13 on American Idol Season 13 took the stage to perform for your votes. The theme for the week was “This Is Me” and the Top 13 picked songs that represented who they are as an artist. Malaya Watson has been one of my favorites all season long and just love her personality and energy. She is a joy to watch and make you want to smile seeing her. Would that transpire into her performance last night? American Idol 2014 Spoilers - Malaya Watson

She sings “Runaway Baby” by Bruno Mars. This girl has so much energy and I just love it. She is always smiling and loving this process, so I am happy for it. She is not clear with her vocals, which Randy Jackson said she needs to annunciate tonight. She did not do that and this was a bad song choice for my girl. She had fun, but it wasn’t a great vocal.


Jennifer Lopez said she has a ton of energy and the performance was an A+, but it was not the greatest song choice for her and it wasn’t her best vocal performance. Harry Connick, Jr. said he loves how passionate she is about music, but could tell she was nervous. Keith Urban said the show is about learning and growing. He loves her energy and it is contagious, but she needs to learn how to put that into her performance so she’s on top of the song.
