While we enjoyed the performances by the Top 8 on American Idol 2014, it looks like we will enjoy them once again next week, as the American Idol judges 2014 used their one save for the season and kept Sam Woolf in the competition. You may not agree with me, but here are my picks for the best performances:


Alex Preston – “Fairytales” by Alex Preston

The reason I became such a huge fan of Alex was because the way he sang when he sang his own songs. He is a true artist that can sing, but can write those songs that capture his emotions. He is a singer-songwriter and I love that about him. He was able to re-sing one of his original songs this week and it was perfection!

Caleb Johnson – “Chain of Fools” by Aretha Franklin

Just to sum it up, but Caleb is a beast! He has taken on some of the craziest songs and artists (Lady Gaga, Adele and now Aretha Franklin) and still made the song his own. How can you take on divas and make it a rock song? A great performance and definitely should be in the American Idol 2014 finale!
