Jessica Sanchez joins Glee for next season. Phillip Phillips may have won American Idol, but Sanchez sure did win in the career department. American Idol runner-up Jessica Sanchez will join the cast of Glee for a multi-episode arc. As first reported by TV Line, details on Sanchez’s character are being kept under wraps but the singer would join the Ryan Murphy-Brad Falchuk series midway through Season 4 and join high-profile additions Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson, who have both signed on for multiple episodes.

Glee will move from its longtime home on Tuesdays to Thursday nights starting in September when it will be paired with reality juggernaut Idol. Sanchez, 16, would likely join the series following the completion of Idol‘s summer concert tour. Glee will mark Sanchez’s first foray into acting. It seems to align with what she told Rolling Stone¬†about the next step in her career following the end of Idol‘s 11th season: “I want people to know that the person I was in the competition is kinda different from who I want to be as an artist.”

Will you be tuning in to see Sanchez on Glee?
