During a rehearsal this past week, Dancing With the Stars 2012 cast member William Levy injured his ankle and from what he says, it is “pretty bad.” Will the William Levy injury keep the hot Latin celebrity from performing on Monday night? Or even worse, end his run on the competition entirely?

Somehow it seems a bit ironic to have Latin actor William Levy injured right before ‘Latin week’ on Dancing With the Stars 2012. I was really looking forward to seeing William Levy and Cheryl Burke smolder their way through an Argentine Tango. Unfortunately, fans may not get to see the heart-throb in action on DWTS 2012 Monday night.

According to Levy, who updated his fans via Twitter last night, an ankle injury suffered during a rehearsal for this week’s performance could sideline him. We can hope if that happens it will only be temporary, but so far his reps are not talking about what the future might hold.

“Just wanted to let u know that I injured my right ankle pretty bad during rehearsal… MRI tomorrow. I’ll let u know… Love u all,” the actor posted to his William Levy Twitter feed on Sunday night.

Professional dancer Cheryl Burke also took to her Twitter feed to post her well wishes for her DWTS 2012 partner. “Hoping that everything turns out ok with William’s ankle injury,” she posted. “Unfortunately things like this happen but praying it’s nothing serious.”

There has been a rash of recent Dancing With the Stars injuries this season, although none of them have kept the injured celebrities out of the competition so far.

TV personality Maria Menounos has danced with cracked ribs and, last week, on a broken foot. Actress Melissa Gilbert will be dancing Monday night even though she is still recovering from a mild concussion and whiplash as a result of hitting her head on the floor during last week’s dance routine with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
