Last night on Next Food Network Star 2014, we got the chance to meet the 12 new contestants. We have a wide variety of contestants this season, but Loreal probably stood out as my favorite of the season early on. I just loved her confidence and personality and she wasn’t over-the-top crazy like some of the other contestants. I think she may be genuine and be talented and could actually have a good show for Food Network!
For the night, the contestants had 90 minutes to create “party bites” for the premiere party celebrating them! They arrived in their limos and walked the red carpet and took the stage to present themselves to the public and their bites to the judging panel, which featured Ross Mathews. We had contestants that shined and contestants that fell flat. In the end, the judges thought Donna Sonkin Shaw was a little too much for them and decided to send her home. She appeared to be awkward and very high-energy during the Food Network Star 2014 premiere and I think they made a good choice, but she’ll get a chance in Star Salvation to come back!
