The home cook that got eliminated tonight on MasterChef Season 5 is Astrid Lavenia and Whitney Bray!!!

The home cooks were first faced with the Mystery Box Challenge, which had them creating a dessert. The judges mixed it up and said one of the home cooks would be eliminated during that challenge! Apparently Astrid has never baked and sending up raw lemon tarts did not sit well with the judges, so she was sent home!

Courtney won the challenge and picked out the dish (meatloaf) for the Elimination Test and which ten home cooks would participate in it. Gordon Ramsay said that Whitney’s dish lacked the passion and drive to be there, so the judges sent her home and it may have been a good choice!
