Last week on Top Chef Masters Season 5, it was all about the kids, as the chefs were cooking dishes with ingredients that kids often do not like. They had to make dishes that both the kids and the parents would enjoy and they had the help of Yo Gabba Gabba to entertain the kids. It was a double elimination night and we found two ladies leaving the Top Chef Kitchen.
Curtis Stone informed them they would have one more chance to fight for a chance back in the kitchen, so we get to see that tonight! Our Live Recap is below, so follow along with us!
WARNING: TOP CHEF MASTERS 2013 SPOILERS AHEAD!

*********************************************************************
We start out with the competition to get back into the Top Chef Masters 2013 Kitchen and the battle between the two eliminated chefs and their sous chefs. Who won a spot back in the kitchen? It was none other than Jennifer and I am not happy…I liked Sue!
We get right into the Quickfire Challenge on Top Chef Masters 2013: the remaining chefs will be competing to upgrade nachos to Top Chef level. They have 30 minutes to complete the task and will be judged by actress Ali Larter. They are all doing their own thing, including Bryan making his own version of guacamole using a wrap.
The judges go around and taste all the dishes and the least favorite dishes come from David and Sang, which seems to be a first. They did not like his nachos and he won’t be winning this Quickfire Challenge, which seems to be his speciality this season! The best dishes come from Doug and Bryan, but Doug is declared the winner and wins $5,000 for his charity!
Elimination Challenge: the chefs are paired together with the person standing next to them! They will be creating two dishes of some kind of fish. The teams will make one hot dish and one cold dish. The type of fish they will be using will not be known until the following day, but shopping for their dishes happens today! How difficult would that be?
The teams are Jennifer and Doug, Bryan and Sang and David and Neal. Bryan and Sang are going with smoky flavors for their dishes; Jennifer and Doug are going with Asian and David and Neal go with Moroccan. The shopping is done and now the chefs actually get to spend some quality time together and they all seem to get along very nicely, which is great to see.
The next day arrives on Top Chef Masters 2013 and the fish have arrived: sable, sea bass and jon dore. They draw to pick fish and Jennifer and Doug take jon dore, Bryan and Sang got sable and David and Neal got sea bass.
The chefs seem to be splitting up the hot and cold dishes, but not Jennifer and Doug. He has immunity this week thanks to his sous chef, so he puts the dishes on Jennifer and if they happen to lose than she goes home….again!
The judges/critics have arrived on Top Chef Masters Season 5 and time for them to taste the dishes. For Sang and Bryan, Curtis actually spits out Sang’s dish because it is lukewarm and not cold like it was supposed to be.
For Neal and David, the critics thought the dishes had some really great flavors and they blended well together. However, they were not the most appealing dishes to look at.
For Jennifer and Doug, the judges absolutely loved both of the dishes and thought they were very cohesive together and shocked that they were made by two chefs. Well, they really weren’t since Jennifer took the reins on this one!
Time for the Critics’ Table on Top Chef Masters 2013: all the chefs are called in and the winning dishes came from Jennifer and Doug! That is good for Jennifer, seeming it was riding on her tonight!
The other two teams had the least favorite dishes and are in danger of going home tonight on Top Chef Masters 2013! Sang has the lukewarm dish when it was supposed to be cold. No real complaints for Bryan’s dish, but the two were not cohesive. Neal had a bad cut on his fish and David has oily couscous.
The judges discuss the chefs and their dishes tonight and have come to a decision. The chef eliminated tonight on Top Chef Masters 2013 is Neal! Sang has a bad night in both challenges, but survives the cut and Neal doesn’t.
What do you think of the judges’ choice tonight on Top Chef Masters Season 5?
