The X Factor USA 2013 Recap: Week 2 – Auditions Night 3 (VIDEO)

Another week of auditions on The X Factor USA 2013 is upon us and time to see what talent The X Factor judges Season 3 (Paulina Rubio, Kelly Rowland, Demi Lovato and Simon Cowell) find. There has been some very good singers take the stage so far on The X Factor Season 3, but will that trend continue tonight? We can only hope that it wasn’t a premiere week fluke! Week 1 of the auditions on The X Factor USA Season 3 have brought many talented singers, as I have stated, One of the standouts was Simone Torres, who came off as a little quirky, but then sang “Mustang Sally” like a champ. Then Lillie McCloud surprised us all when she revealed she was 54 years old, but then shocked us even more with how great her voice was!

We can only hope that the auditions are just as good tonight on The X Factor 2013 and with the ratings down last week, I think they do need some good talent and some good shows coming up. Tonight will be tough, since it is battling so many shows tonight starting and ending, but we will have your recap tonight of all the action, so stay tuned here!

We start in Los Angeles tonight and we still have those four categories that Mario Lopez tells us about all the time: Boys, Girls, Over 25s and Groups. Paulina has a concert today, so we just have Simon, Demi and Kelly to start. First up are sisters Shirley & Cynthia and this is a train wreck. The older sister is terrible and sings most of the time, but the younger sister sounds like she could be alright, but never sings. The judges have nothing to say and they are headed home.

Josh Levi is 14 years old and he is super nervous, but I think he is going to be good. His nerves did not show, as he shined on that stage and had some major confidence and seemed to be doing some flirting with demi. Very good voice and stage presence. Demi loves him and Simon thinks we could be looking at a future star. He gets three yes votes on The X Factor USA 2013!

So, we now have a girl group called Drama Drama and they call themselves that because of all the drama with teenage girls, but then they are all in their 20s. Makes no sense and their performance is even worse! Simon Cowell goes on a kick of everyone feeling old fashioned and corny and he is not happy.

Well, that all changes with AKNU. They are brothers and they describe their group as classic. They grew up in the ghetto, but singing kept them on track. They sing “Valerie” by Amy Winehouse and it is honor of their mother, whose name is Valerie. Simon said he hates the song, but then loves this performance. I love when that happens and they get three yes votes!

Brandie Love is next and Simon said that is a pop star’s name. She loves country music, but chooses to sing “Up To The Mountain.” Paulina questions that, but she said she talks country and it has a way of just coming out. Yeah, she brings us to church with this audition on The X Factor USA 2013. She has such control over her voice and has a beautiful tone. Paulina said she brought The X Factor. Simon predicts great things for her. Demi said she took her home to Texas and it is four yes votes.

This sets off a round of some good auditions and acts that are moving on!

Vincent Crisostomo thinks he is a celebrity in his hometown and he even has his own bodyguard. He has all these hip hop stars that he looks up to, but then sings a LeAnn Rime’s song? This makes no sense and he sounds horrible. Why not stick to hip hop if that is what you enjoy? Simon said he has been doing this a long time and that may be the worst he has ever heard, so he is headed home!

Carlos Guevara has tourette syndrome and he is 16 years old. He started to sing when he was 12 and this came on. He said it has been a hard year and he has had to leave school. He was on the football team and Vice President for his class. His friends come to support him and it is beyond cute. He can sing!!! And bring on my tears! Paulina said she doesn’t know him, but she feels proud of him. Demi said he has a beautiful voice and can tell he has a beautiful soul. Kelly said it was so magical. Simon said he likes that he is not victim and he has not let that stop him do what he loves doing, but he also has a great voice. He gets four yes votes and his friends rush him on the stage and more tears from me!

Chloe J & CJ are friends and only friends! CJ is hilarious and they know each other from hair school. They are so funny, but you know they are not going to sing well! Yup, they were entertaining, but not good singers and it is back to hair school for them! She gives kisses all over Simon and he says yes, but the others said no!

We get some quick yes votes on The X Factor Season 3 and now we get to see Colton Pack, who lives in a small town and heard about his audition, so they got a charter bus and the whole town came to watch him! He has that country singer look and voice to go with it. He has a great personality and he is very likable. Paulina likes him and loves his presence and growls at him. Demi said it was pitchy at times, but he has a natural stage presence and it was a great performance. Kelly digs him. Simon really, really, really likes him and thinks there is a market for him. Four yes votes!

Simon is running late, so it is just the ladies now on The X Factor USA 2013. Danie Geimer is awkward and likes reading books. She has always wanted to sing, so thought this was a great opportunity for her. She has an amazing voice, but was it all an act? Kelly said she is it! Demi said she was really impressed. Paulina said she is really special with power vocals and a beautiful smile. It is three yes votes!

Jeff Gutt tries out last season, but never made it to the live rounds. He is a single dad from Detroit. The judges loved him, but did not make it through boot camp. He was a lot skinnier then and has eaten some cheeseburgers and now he is back and Demi said he looks refreshed. He sings an Aerosmith song and it is not going well, so Simon cuts it off and said he is disappointed and trying to be Steven Tyler. He gives him another chance and sings “Creep” by Radiohead. He does have a good rocker voice, but I am still not blown away. He kicks it in at the end and I am a fan! Simon said he has done so many gigs and he has picked up some bad habits, but he is honored to have him back on the show. Kelly said he is really incredible. They give out for yes votes!
