The X Factor USA 2013 Recap: Night 4 – Who Made Top 16? (VIDEO)

The Four Chair Challenge on The X Factor USA 2013 comes to an end tonight on FOX and Simon Cowell will complete his final four groups on The X Factor Season 3 and when the hour is done we will know who made Top 16 on The X Factor 2013! The live shows on The X Factor USA Season 3 kick off next week and that is when the real fun begins! Mario Lopez leading the way and all 16 acts taking the stage to sing for our votes. Before that, the remaining six groups will fight for Simon to keep them on the show and a spot in one of those four chairs! Last night on The X Factor Season 3, it was all about Paulina Rubio and picking her final four Guys for the live shows. We then saw the first four groups take the stage for Simon Cowell and all four of them got one of the chairs. So, six more groups will perform tonight and you know there will be some switching around!

I am intrigued to see the other two groups perform that the mentors put together. Restless Road smashed it out of the park for their first time performing together, so do you think the other new groups will too? Find out in our Live Recap starting soon!

Here we go…it is the final night of the Four Chair Challenge and we have six groups to get through tonight with Simon Cowell and when it is done the Top 16 on The X Factor USA Season 3 will be determined. Let’s get back to these groups!

GROUPS

Sweet Suspense is another group formed by the mentors during the audition rounds and I am intrigued to see them perform. They say their personalities mesh well together and need to work hard to show Simon why he put them together. This was a terrible start for them and I thought it was a terrible choice, but then the song kicked in and they sounded good. Forget the slow parts and keep it up-tempo, girls!

Judges: Kelly Rowland said there is something special here and they do have some work to do, but they are hungry enough to get to the place they need to be. Paulina Rubio said they look like superstars. Demi Lovato said she is so proud of them. Simon said chemistry, talent, fun, friendship and ambition and all the things he likes.

Decision: He tells them to take a seat, which means we have a switch and he sends home Wild Thingz. Like I said last night, he should have just sent them home right away!

Yellow House Canyon are up next and they have that country spirit in them. They have bubbly personalities and I may like them! They have a lot of fun when they sing, which makes me want to have fun. They have good voices, but I am not sure if Simon will pick them.

Judges: Kelly feels they were having fun up there and they have great energy to give out. Demi said she loves them because they are so down-to-earth, but doesn’t think they have what it takes to sit in the four chairs. Simon said he liked their first audition and they aren’t the best singers in the world, but they bring an energy.

Decision: Simon sends them home!

The other group formed by the mentors on The X Factor Season 3 is now up and called Forever In Your Mind. They feel they need to stay focused and Simon has had success with putting groups together, so they are hoping it works for them too. This group started slow, as well, and thought it was another terrible mistake. They kicked it in, but I did not feel it! They should go home.

Judges: Kelly said they are cute, but the cute is outweighing everything else. Paulina said she was not blown away by them tonight and they have a lot of competition. Demi said it was a bad song choice and if they are going to sing another boy band song then they must be as good. Kelly said they are missing a lead singer. Simon thinks they need time.

Decision: Simon said he is going to take a chance on them and gives them a seat. Simon sends home Glamour!

We have three more groups to go on The X Factor 2013 and up next is Good News. They seem to be a little annoying, even though they are trying to be funny. I haven’t seen much of them this season, so this should be interesting. Like the expression on Simon’s face during this performance, I was bored and it appeared the audience was as well.

Judges: Paulina said they are beautiful, but they are not ready. Kelly said she wanted them to prove her wrong, but she feels they could be giving more and they need more time to develop. Simon said this did not work in the slightest and it was boring and dreary.

Decision: Simon sends them home!

Next up are Alex & Sierra, who have been dating since 2009. I loved their version of the song they sang during their audition, but then I loved it when Melanie Martinez did it on The Voice before them! This was a little slow for me, but I still enjoyed it. They changed up a classic and made it their own and have some great voices!

Judges: Kelly said she adores them and loves listening to them sing together and they are so sexy. Paulina loves the way they sing and she believes in them. Demi said they are one of her favorite acts in this competition, but asks what happens if they break up. Simon said it was a stupid question and is more optimistic than Demi is and he really, really, really likes them and no one in the market like them and people will fall in love with them.

Decision: He could think of nothing better than working with the two of them on The X Factor USA 2013 and gives them a seat. He sends home Girls United.

The final group trying to fight for a seat are Roxxy Montana. They are sisters from Michigan and Simon thinks they have a secret weapon in one of them.They started singing together and I got chills! This group can sing and now we are going to have some issues tonight!

Judges: Kelly said she can see they didn’t come here to play games. Paulina said she didn’t think it would be that tight and that good. Simon said they haven’t worked out who they want to be yet and we could make them incredible.

Decision: The easy part: he gives them a seat. The hard part: sending home Forever In Your Mind!

The final four groups are Restless Road, Alex & Sierra, Roxxy Montana and Sweet Suspense. That is it for tonight, so what do you think of Simon Cowell’s decisions tonight on The X Factor USA 2013?
