We have entered Week 2 of the Four Chair Challenge on The X Factor USA 2013 and it is time for the Boys and Groups to take front and center and perform for their mentors (Paulina Rubio and Simon Cowell) for a spot on the live shows on The X Factor Season 3 next week! Meanwhile, Kelly Rowland and Demi Lovato can sit back and relax, as they had the pressure of picking their final four singers last week! Mario Lopez will be leading the action tonight, so follow along with our The X Factor USA 2013 Recap and see who went home on The X Factor USA 2013 tonight with us!

The X Factor USA 2013 Spoilers - Premiere

It was all about the Girls and the Over 25s last week on The X Factor USA Season 3, as Demi picked her final four Girls and Kelly picked her final four Over 25s. Now they all get to sit back and watch as the pressure is on for the other half of the Top 40 on The X Factor 2013.


Simon has ten Groups and Paulina has ten Boys, but only four of each can make it to the live shows. This is a lot of pressure, especially with the crowd yelling at them to decide a certain way. Whether we like it or not, the final decision rests in their mentor’s hands. Watch it all go down in our recap starting soon!

Here we go…we have Paulina Rubio and the Boys starting us out tonight on The X Factor USA 2013. Only four survive, so lets do this!

BOYS

First up tonight is Al Calderon and he is a host at a restaurant. He was grabbed to sing “Happy Birthday” one day and he is now designated the birthday singer. He is all about the girls! He is very easy on the eyes, but starts rough for me and Paulina definitely does not seem to be enjoying it. I think he made a poor song choice, but the girls love him.

Judges: Kelly Rowland said the vocals started shaky, but soared at the end and would like to see him there. Demi Lovato thought he had a great energy up there, but maybe too much at times. Simon Cowell said he is not the best singer in the competition, but he has great charisma and fantastic energy and they could make him into a much better singer. Paulina loves his look and stage presence, but does he have what it takes to be a solo male artist?

Decision: She gives him a seat!

Next up is Isaiah Alston, who comes from a huge family and they love to laugh together. He is only 15 years old and does most of his singing in the church choir. He takes on a Whitney Houston, which is hard for anyone. He starts sitting down and it is real rough! He stands up and kicks it in big time. I think another poor song choice for these Boys on The X Factor Season 3.

Judges: Kelly said he looks so adorable, but today we didn’t enjoy the sweeter parts of her voice. Demi doesn’t think he is ready for this competition. Simon said it was very old-fashioned and out of tune. Paulina said he has a very powerful voice in such a small package.

Decision: She sends him home, which is a wise choice!

Isaac Tauaefa is the next singer and he is a bouncer. He played football his whole life, but had a career-ending injury and music became his life. He feels Paulina didn’t really remember him, so he is going to have to do something to get her attention. He failed again and another poor song choice from these guys!

Judges: Kelly said it was a bit karaoke and he felt uncomfortable on the stage. Simon thought he was going to deliver a lot more. Paulina said he has a great voice, but she agrees with her people!

Decision: She sends home another one!

Carlos Guevara is up next and he is the singer who has Tourette’s syndrome. He wants to show everyone that it does not own him and he will conquer it. Finally, one of the guys came to play tonight on The X Factor USA 2013! Great performance and great tone to his voice. He said he doesn’t want to be a sob story, but wants to be an inspiration!

Judges: Kelly said she loves how he allows himself to be lost and he nailed it. Simon loves the tone of his voice, but there are times where he loses complete control of it, which could be a problem. Paulina said he has a unique sound.

Decision: Paulina gives him a chair!

I was hesitant on Stone Martin moving on during the auditions. He has a strong voice, but he seemed to be very quiet. He has an obsession with One Direction and now that he might become a pop star, he doesn’t have time for the girlfriend every month. Again, I am not impressed. He can hit some notes, but he seems very timid and not ready for this at 14 years old.

Judges: Kelly likes his tone and thinks his runs were great. Demi said this was much better than his first audition and he just came up there and killed it. Simon said he is very robotic when he performs, but there is a market for him and he needs some swag. Paulina said they were all swayed by his cuteness, but does he have the ingredients to be like a male Taylor Swift?

Decision: She tells him to take a seat!

Chase Goehring wrote his first song on his bedroom floor. Simon did not like his first song, so he took a chance and sang an original song. Paulina seemed to love him in the auditions though. I think he has something different and he could be something for the Boys. He does not have the greatest voice, but he has that rapping in there and I like him.

Judges: Kelly doesn’t know if she likes hearing him sing that song like he sings his own songs. Demi said it feels unnatural. Simon said we like you, but he almost wishes he never heard that and go back to the first audition. Paulina said that he writes his own music is valuable.

Decision: She tells him to take a seat, so all four seats are taken now!

Tim Olstad has always dreamed of being a singer and he just graduated college. He compares himself to other singers and knocks himself down. He got super nervous during his audition and was shaking that mic around! He has some shaky moments, but he can work through those nerves over time. This guy can sing and can hit some notes!

Judges: Kelly said she can already hear his voice on the radio and he had a wonderful moment. Demi said she cannot see him being let go in this competition. Simon said he is an artist that will appeal to a much older generation. Paulina thought he was special, but after tonight she does not know.

Decision: She knows and gives Tim a seat, which means she must switch someone out and she sends home Stone Martin!!!

Next up on The X Factor 2013 is Carlito Olivero. He said he has a big crush on Paulina! He said he has the richest family in the world and the only thing they didn’t have was money. He, for sure, is very very easy on the eyes! He breaks out into some Spanish lyrics in the middle and I actually like it. He seems like a total package and I am a fan!

Judges: Kelly said he is so humble, but wishes he would have gained more control of that vocal and felt he was so shaky. Simon said his first song was better and made him more relevant, but gets that he is embracing his Spanish roots, but great potential in him. Paulina said she loves his voice and range and his attitude.

Decision: He is in her final four, so she now sends home Chase Goehring!

The youngest boy in the contest is Timmy Thames is up next and he has been singing since he was in diapers. He has a single mother who works full time and he wants to be able to win and provide for her. He has such a mature voice and I like it, but was he meant for musicals with this performance?

Judges: Kelly said he is so stinkin’ cute, but she liked his audition better. Demi said he is cute and has charisma on stage, but she was not blown away. Simon said if he was watching everyone today for the first time then he would be the one he would remember and it would be insane for him to leave. Paulina said he is her little Michael Jackson.

Decision: He is in her final four, so she sends home Tim Olstad!

Paulina got some major boos from the audience and we come back from break and she said she has to stay true to herself and not what the audience wants, but she wants Tim Olstad back on The X Factor USA 2013. She now sends home Al Calderon and Tim takes his seat!

The final Boy of the night is Josh Levi. His grandmother is his biggest fan and is ready to see him on the live shows. Paulina was not at his initial audition, so that could help him if he nails this. He starts strong and I like it, but then he breaks out into some dance moves and everyone loves it. I think it took away from his singing and he needs to focus on that!

Judges: Kelly said we are looking at a superstar right now. Demi said she feels overwhelmed by his presence and the crowd’s reaction and Paulina cannot let him go. Simon said he would not have chosen this song, but we are looking at a potential star here. Paulina said everything he just did was perfect.

Decision: He is in her final four, which means she now sends home Timmy Thames!

The Boys are down and the final four for the live shows are Tim Olstad, Carlos Guevara, Carlito Olivero and Josh Levi. What do you think Paulina’s decisions tonight on The X Factor 2013?

GROUPS

It is now to move on to Simon Cowell and his groups and up first are Girls United. They are a little worried about Simon determining their fate and don’t know what to expect with them. They are very energetic and get the crowd pumped, but the song choice was weird to me and didn’t show off their vocals.

Judges: Kelly thinks they have a wonderful look and they had harmonies. Demi said it was a little on the young side of the performance, but if they have grown this much then she wants to see them grow in the competition. Simon liked that they were well rehearsed and know what kind of music they want to do, but there is something commercial about them.

Decision: They take the first seat!

Wild Thingz is up next and they want to be like Jay Z, but instead run L.A. or even the world. They are a bit nutty, but can they sing? They said that Simon would be mental if he doesn’t send them to the live shows. I don’t even know what happened with this performance and they are nuts!

Judges: Kelly said they are too much. Paulina said she can admit that she really liked that performance. Simon said he doesn’t even know which is more annoying and it isn’t music, but unintentional comedy.

Decision: Simon goes with his insane part of his brain and gives them a seat, but you know he will send them home eventually!

Glamour is up next and they are best friends. They are cute little girls and Simon said they turned the National Anthem into a hit record during their audition. They have such great personalities and are fun to watch, but they did not sound the greatest on this one.

Judges: Kelly said she adores them, but wishes it was a little bit tighter today. Demi said they sounded great and they worked their butts off, but wonders if they are ready for it right now. Simon said they were so good on that first audition and is struggling on this one.

Decision: He goes back to the first audition and tells them to take a seat!

The last group of tonight on The X Factor USA 2013 is a group the judges formed, which is called Restless Road. They are a country man band consisting of Andrew Scholz, Colton Pack and Zach Beeken. They are all good-looking guys and sound great together and even get a standing ovation from the judges!

Judges: Kelly said they are such an incredible country trio and this was a brilliant idea. Paulina said she loves the three of them and their vocals blend so well together. Demi said she is so excited right now. Simon said he was so sure this was going to work and in order to work they have to have talent and friendship and he saw both tonight.

Decision: No shocker here, but he tells them to take a seat and all four chairs are taken with the first four groups!
