The X Factor USA 2013 Recap: Night 2 – Four Chair Challenge (VIDEO)

Forget the Boot Camps on The X Factor Season 3, because the producers are bringing us the Four Chair Challenge on The X Factor USA 2013 and we are picking up where we left off last night! The remaining six acts in the Girls category will take the stage tonight and mentor Demi Lovato will figure out who makes the live shows on The X Factor 2013 and who goes home on The X Factor USA Season 3! Last night on The X Factor Season 3, the Four Chair Challenge kicked off and we got to see the Over 25s get their time on the stage and see Kelly Rowland struggle with trying to get a final four for the live shows! The Over 25s are a very talented group of singers, but I feel some of them didn’t have their best nights last night. Kelly took some gruff for her choices, but I can’t imagine trying to figure that out and with the pressure of the other judges and audience ringing in her ears!

We saw the first four girls take the stage last night and Demi put them all in a seat, but we have six girls to get through tonight and someone will have to be replaced! This is where it gets good, so follow along with our recap starting soon!

Here we go…we saw the start of the Girls category last night, but we have four seats filled and six singers to go through. Let’s get this started!!!

GIRLS

To remind you, the four girls sitting in chairs right now are Bree Randall, Khaya Cohen, Jamie Pineda and Ashly Williams.

Up first tonight is Simone Torres, who feels awkward and nerdy compared to the other girls in this competition. She has that deep and raspy voice, so I think it will stand out. I think she has a great voice and great stage presence, but she got drowned in this song until the end and she kicked it in. Was it enough to save her though?

Judges: Paulina Rubio said she relates to her. Simon Cowell said the arrangement of the song was a joke and it was so bad and karaoke. Kelly Rowland said you still sang the hell out of the song. Demi said she has an incredible voice, but not sure if she is seeing s star.

Decision: She gets a seat, which means someone has to go home. Demi sends home Bree Randall!

Danielle Geimer is only 15 years old and these kids are so crazy old-looking these days. She is very shy and is smart and wants to be a neurosurgeon someday, but that is her backup career! She wants to be a singer first and here is her chance on The X Factor USA 2013. This girl may be only 15 years old and shy, but she comes alive on that stage and has such a strong voice. She came to take a seat tonight and has rightfully earned it!

Judges: Kelly said she just sang her face off and she needs a seat. Simon said life is about timing and we have so many overconfident pop stars and she is shy and could change that face of pop music. Demi said she is so talented and such a star.

Decision: She gets a seat, which means Demi now sends home Simone Torres, who she just freaking gave a seat to!

We now get to see Rylie Brown, who grew up as a pageant girl. She loved the talent part of the competitions and wanted to get up there and sing. She is now ready to branch out and that The X Factor Season 3 is the perfect place for her to do that. As far as the competition goes, we all know that the country singers do well. Does Rylie have a bad voice? No, but not the best voice of those girls sitting in the chairs.

Judges: Kelly doesn’t think that is a proper song choice and might not be ready for this competition. Simon said that everything she did tonight was picked out by her mother. Demi said she looks beautiful and everything was pageanty and doesn’t know if she is ready for this vocally.

Decision: Demi sends her home!

Up next is Primrose Martin and she was never really shown much this season. Her dad is Skip Martin from Koll and the Gang, so how awesome is that for us old folks out there??? She has amazing stage presence, but this is such a terrible song choice. How can you listen to it and not think of Pitch Perfect?

Judges: Kelly said she looks lovely, but this was completely different from her first audition. Paulina was surprised she didn’t deliver as much as the first time. Simon said that was beyond awful and the longest minute and a half of his life. Demi said she danced more than she sang and something comes off as too confident and it rubs her the wrong way.

Side note: she kept trying to sing and Simon gave up. And Ashly Williams looks so angry with her nerves while waiting this out!

Decision: Demi sends her home!

Rion Paige is up next and she is only 13 years old! She has the physical condition with her hands, but her personality is beyond amazing. She said there is a fire burning inside of her and you can’t take that away. She has a great country voice and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house!

Judges: Kelly loves her voice and how happy she is when she sings and loves watching her sing. Simon said when you got it you got. He loves her voice and we are just scratching the surface her. Demi said she has such a strong voice and when she looks at her she sees nothing different.

Decision: Demi wants her in her final four, so she gets a chair on The X Factor 2013 and sends home Ashly Williams!!! WOW!

The last singer of the night on The X Factor 2013 is Ellona Santiago and we have another returning singer. She made Season 1, but was put in a group formed that season and they were the first act eliminated in the Top 12. Arin Ray was in the same group and he made it to the Top 12 last season. Can it happen again for Season 3? I think she has a beautiful voice, but didn’t she already have her chance? I was not a fan of Arin last season and won’t be a fan of Ellona either if she makes it!

Judges: Kelly said she is a beast. Paulina said that was amazing and has no idea what Demi is going to do. Simon said that was probably one of the best vocals we have heard in this category. Demi agrees and she has an incredible voice, but something is missing and that star quality isn’t there yet.

Decision: Demi is very torn, but decides to put her in her final four, which means Demi sends home Jamie Pineda!
