The X Factor USA 2013 Live Recap: Week 2 – Auditions Night 4 (VIDEO)

The auditions on The X Factor USA 2013 continue to roll along, as Simon Cowell, Paulina Rubio, Demi Lovato and Demi Lovato work their way through even more acts as they try to prove they deserve a spot on The X Factor USA Season 3! I do love the audition rounds, at times, but then at times I just want the live shows on The X Factor 2013 to happen and we can finally see who we will be voting for! One thing I have learned from covering all these reality TV shows is that kids these days have so much talent. This didn’t seem the case when I was a kid, but my point was proven last night on The X Factor 2013 Season 3. How could you not fall in love with Josh Levi when he took the stage? He has that look in his eyes of someone that has a gift and his voice matched that look. An amazing talent and he could go far this season!

Here we go…the auditions have hit Charleston, SC tonight. Andrew Scholz is a high school student and pretty much has done it all: pole vaulting, football and gymnastics, but his dream is to sing songs. He feels he has what it takes to be a star. I don’t know about that, but he has the looks! He definitely has a good voice and the girls (and Kelly Rowland) seem to be enjoying him. Kelly said he felt glued to the microphone, which made it feel like karaoke. Demi said his voice isn’t bad, but he didn’t feel comfortable on stage and it felt awkward. Paulina was surprised by the song choice and didn’t quite get it. Simon disagrees with all three girls. Simon pleads with the girls, but Demi stays strong. Simon lets him sing a different song and Demi said that totally changed everything and that made more sense. He now gets four yes votes!

Well, Blake Shankle takes the stage and I am over him. He is full of himself and thinks he is amazing already. He says people want his autograph now, but Kelly Rowland thinks he is hot. He sings and he is not that great. His looks won’t get him anywhere and I am over him even more! Paulina said he poses a lot. Demi thinks he is very theatrical. Four no votes and he is headed home!

Blake started a trend on The X Factor Season 3 and we see bad audition after bad audition and Simon is ready for the day to be over and call it a day!

We are now in Los Angeles and Paulina is out because she is sick! Ellona Santiago has arrived on stage and she is here alone because her family couldn’t make it. She said it was last minute, but that did not show. She owned that stage and has such a strong voice. I love the song and I am liking this girl. Kelly said whoever that girl was came out and she meant business. Simon said she is the girl he thinks he wants to work with the most. She then informs us that she was part of Intensity from Season 1. They were a group formed that season and got voted out Top 12. Arin Ray was part of that group too and he came back and made Top 12 last season. Now it is her chance, as she gets three yes votes!

Some bad auditions, but Stone Martin is hoping to make that change. He said the most people he has sung in front of is six and in his living room! He is super nervous when he takes that stage and it comes off with his singing. He is so quiet, but he hits some big notes and he can sing, but is he ready for this competition? Kelly loves him and since he is only 14, he is still getting to know his voice and he has only scratched the surface. Demi thinks there is something special about him. Paulina thinks his life is about to change forever. He gets four yes votes on The X Factor USA 2013!

Ashly Williams dreams of singing and do what she was put on the world to do. She was 14 years old when her mother was murdered. Her birthday would have been on the Sunday after this audition and now she is doing this for her. This one started a little slower for me, but she kicked it in. Those nerves went away and this girl has got it. She belt out the notes and hit those high ones. She sang with emotion and she is the star of the night. Kelly said thank you baby girl for spilling your heart out in that vocal. Paulina said she was captivated by her talent and that was an amazing performance. Demi said she is speechless. Simon said this is why they brought the show to America and we have just cracked the surface with her. She gets four yes votes!
