We have made it to Week 2 of The Voice USA Season 5 blind auditions and NBC saw some great ratings for The Voice Season 5 premiere week. The return of Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green drummed up enough attention to bring the ratings up, but I also believe people wanted to tune in and see the slimmer Christina! The blind auditions on The Voice USA 2013 keep them around though, as we have seen some amazing singers take the stage so far. Watch for even more tonight during our The Voice USA Season 5 Recap!

The Voice - Season 5

After last week ended on The Voice USA Season 5, we had Team Adam with five artists and Team Blake, Team Cee Lo and Team Christina with four artists each. The previews for Week 2 show us that the coaches are gunning for Blake Shelton this season, as they should be! He has won three seasons in a row and now they seem determined to knock him off that pedestal!

I think they can do it, but it depends on how they work with their teams this season. Adam Levine always seems to get some of the most talented singers on the show, but then he pits them against each other in the Battle Rounds and one of them are gone and stolen by another team and that singer goes on to win it! They all need to be smarter, but that begins in the blind auditions! Watch them tonight with us in our recap starting soon!

WARNING: THE VOICE USA SEASON 5 SPOILERS AHEAD!

The following post contains videos from tonight’s episode of The Voice 2013 Season 5 Blind Auditions. Don’t want to see them yet then don’t look ahead!!!

****************************************************************

Here we go…we take a look back at Week 1 of the Blind Auditions and it gets me excited for another week of new talent taking the stage! We start the night with Ray Boudreaux who is a young father with an old soul. His daughter’s mother and him went their separate ways, but are still great friends and share custody. This allows him to do gigs on the nights without his daughter. He has a great, soulful voice and Blake turns right around. Cee Lo eventually joins him and they get to battle it out. Cee Lo lays it on pretty thick and it seems like a good fit, but he picks Team Blake on The Voice USA Season 5!

Lina Gaudenzi is 23 years old and from Miami and her mom was a professional model and wanted to follow in her footsteps and did some modeling as a teenager, but then gained 40 pounds and quit modeling and went on a soul searching trip to Paris after high school and she realized she wanted to do music. She has a great tone to her voice and is a beautiful girl and it will be a battle between Christina and Blake. Christina is fighting hard for this and said Blake speaks on language and Blake said yeah, winning! Lina joins Team Christina!

Our next singer is Juhi, who is only 16 years old and in high school. She said she gets her singing ability from her mom, who sings a lot of classical Indian music. If this goes well, her family is okay with putting her scholastics on hold. She has such a mature voice, but a fun voice. She can hit some good notes and I think with some work from one of these coaches can do great things on The Voice 2013 Season 5! She gets Christina and Cee Lo to turn around! Cee Lo said she sounded so strong and so effortless. Christina said she wants to take her places. Juhi picks Team Cee Lo!

Malford Milligan is 54 years old and grew up poor. He was out working in the cotton fields when he was 12 years old. He had a great family, but he struggled because he is a black albino. He is legally blind and went to an all-black school, which led to a lot of pain but that led him to singing. The coaches all talk about hitting their buttons, but none of them do. Adam said he can sing and Cee Lo said it was so like the original and he wanted something different. Blake tells him to go make a record so he can buy it. And this started a string of some artists that were there, but needed a little more work on The Voice USA Season 5!

The next artist is Justin Blake and he knows the value of hard work. He works 40 hours a week at $8/hour and has a baby on the way, so he is hoping this all works out. He is singing one of Blake’s songs, so that is a huge risk for a blind audition. Will it pay off? He didn’t get Blake to turn around and almost got Cee Lo to turn around, but Adam turned around and Justin joins Team Adam! Blake said it takes nerve to sing his song, which Adam didn’t even know it was a Blake Shelton song.

Next up is Timyra-Joi and she is 15 years old. Her dad lost his job when she was nine years old, so her vocal coach stopped charging them and they lived with her for six months to get on their feet. Her vocal coach is with her today. She said she is trying to figure out what kind of artist she wants to be, so maybe Team Cee Lo would work for her. She sings and gives me chills! How can this girl be 15 years old? Christina turned around right away and I thought she had it, but Blake and Cee Lo hit their buttons right at the end! The coaches all fight for her and it is funny, but she goes with Team Christina!

Monika Leigh has been gigging bars and cafes and coffee shops from 13 to 21 years old, but gave up at 21 years old. She found out the real world was hard and didn’t think singing would work out for her. She now works in a hotel, but heard about these auditions and hopes this could launch her career finally. She has a very pure voice and the guys enjoyed her, as all three male coaches turned around for her. Blake wants to build his team around her. Cee Lo and Adam share love for each and Blake said they should go on a date and he wants this girl on his team! She picks Team Blake!

It could be some more love for Team Blake on The Voice 2013, as Zach Hinson takes center stage. He comes out with his cowboy hat. He is a firefighter and loves his job, but having a job with more safety and doing what he loves is his goal tonight. He has great control of his voice and a great tone and country voice, but none of the coaches turn for him! They tell him to work on some things and come back!

Next up is Briana Cuoco, who happens to be the personal assistant and sister to Kaley Cuoco, star of The Big Bang Theory. She wants this so much for her sister and is more nervous for her now than Briana is! She started out a little slow, but then hits a huge note and Christina turns around! Then Cee Lo hits his button at the very end! Christina laid it on thick and it worked. Girl power and Briana picks Team Christina!

George Horga, Jr. is 19 years old and is hoping to make his family proud with this audition. His family is from Romania and lived on floors to make a life for him. At 18 years old, George moved to Hollywood to pursue his dreams, which is not normal for Romanian families. He has a decent voice and is a good-looking kid, but I was not wowed. Cee Lo Green was and he joins Team Cee Lo on The Voice USA Season 5.

Some quick additions to teams before we get to the final artist of the night on The Voice 2013 Season 5, which happens to be Preston Pohl. He comes from a musical family, where both his parents played in the church. When he was 17 years old, he played in a Christian rock band. His best friend in the band passed away during their third or fourth year in the band and he called it quits. His friend always kept him going and going and he is back knowing his friend would want him to do this! He has such a great tone to his voice and amazing stage presence and a rocker voice going on. We have another Man Fight on our hands, as all the guys turn around and Christina sits and watches. He seems like a perfect fit for Team Cee Lo, but he goes with Team Adam!

That is it for the night. We end Night 3 of the Blind Auditions on The Voice USA 2013 with Team Cee Lo with seven artists, Team Christina with eight artists, Team Adam with seven artists and Team Blake with seven artists.
