The Voice USA Season 4 - Team Shakira

The Voice USA Season 4 – Team Shakira

The singers on Team Adam and Team Usher brought their A games last night on The Voice Season 4, so should we expect the same from Team Blake and Team Shakira. You know that Usher and Shakira are out to prove themselves, being the new kids on the block, so we should expect some great performances from her team. Blake Shelton is a two-time defending champion coach, so he is looking for that three-peat during Season 4, so his country artists will be strong tonight.

Besides the eight singers taking on their solo performances, we will also get a chance to see both the teams perform as a whole and possibly a performance by Blake Shelton and Shakira together?? Adam Levine and Usher did it last night, so why wouldn’t they? Find out during our Live Recap starting soon and keep an eye out for the videos for their performances tonight!

WARNING: THE VOICE USA SEASON 4 SPOILERS AHEAD!

The following post contains videos from tonight’s episode of The Voice USA Season 4 Live Playoffs. Don’t want to see them yet then don’t look ahead!!!

*********************************************************************

Here we go folks…again, it is Team Shakira and Team Blake performing tonight and your votes will save two of them from each team and the coach will get a chance to save one more of them to move into the Top 12 on The Voice Season 4. We take a look back at the performances from last night, but will it continue tonight?

Let’s check in with the coaches and Blake Shelton seems very excited that he is bringing an all-country team to the live shows. Shakira feels like a mama bird.

First performance of the night will come from Team Blake, who headed to a karaoke joint to loosen up and he could see more of their personalities shine through. It was fun to see them have some fun and laugh and not have the competition on their mind the whole time. They sing “Boondocks” by Little Big Town. This is a super fun song and they sounded good as a group. They all have some amazing country voices, so it will be interesting to see where the votes go tonight for Team Blake!

Garrett Gardner (Team Shakira) – “Imagine” by John Lennon

Shakira gave him this song so he could play the piano and show off a different side of his artistry. This is such a huge and iconic song, so can he stand up to this task? I think he has some good moments in the song, but it may have been too big of a song for him. I think Garrett will be a good singer some day, but he needs some more time to grow. He did seem very comfortable on the stage though. Blake said he is a good-looking dude, but there is a beast inside of him that he loves. Coach Shakira is very proud of Garrett.

Holly Tucker (Team Blake) – “How Do I Live” by LeAnn Rimes

Holly feels like she doesn’t fit the superstar type and not the “Barbie” type girl, but Blake reassures her that she belongs her and she will be a role model for many people someday. She may have confidence issues, but this girl should definitely not. She is a very beautiful girl and has an amazing voice. She hits some huge notes and her range is so good. This is a great voice and a great country singer. I’m a fan! She gets a standing ovation from her coach. Adam Levine says she is more beautiful and more talent than Blake is, which Blake cheers for!

Kris Thomas (Team Shakira) – “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars

Kris used to get teased about his voice and how high it is, but he has learned to embrace it while being on Team Shakira. She is hoping America sees the special tone in his voice. Well, I have my first set of goosebumps for the night. Kris nailed this performance and his tone is amazing for this song. He just proved himself as a contender and won me over as a fan. This was a perfect song choice for him and he sounded great. Shakira said she always roots for the good guys and hopes America sees that. Will you be voting for Kris Thomas?

The Swon Brothers (Team Blake) – “Fishin’ In The Dark” by The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band

This is the only duo to ever make the live shows on The Voice, so I am interested to see how America warms up to them. Can a duo win The Voice USA Season 4? This was a fun song choice by Blake Shelton and it got the crowd into it and pumped, so that is always good to calm their nerves. They work that crowd and sound like an established country duo and I am impressed. So is Blake, as he gives a standing ovation again. Blake loves the fact that they did “Fishin’ In The Dark” on the freakin’ Voice!

Now time for Blake Shelton and Shakira to take the stage, as they take on “Need You Now” by Lady Antebellum. Shakira looks real good after having a kid recently, right? I think the fire in the back has Blake a little hot out there or maybe it is Shakira? Good performance though!

Karina Iglesias (Team Shakira) – “Let’s Stay Together” by Al Green

She knew it wasn’t her best performance during the Knockout Rounds, so she knows she has to work it out on this performance. Shakira wants to see the soul come out with this song choice. I think she does get that soul to come out in this performance. She has a great voice and can do those grunts and make it sound good. She has fun on that stage and I think that is key and ends on a pretty note!

Justin Rivers (Team Blake) – “Meet In The Middle” by Diamond Rio

Justin’s wife is the one who convinced him to audition for The Voice USA Season 4 when he was ready to give up. I guess she was right, huh? Justin is that guy that has made it this far in the competition, but he doesn’t seem to have been shown that much. He has a very solid country voice and this was a fun performance, but is it enough to make the Top 12?

Now it is time for Team Shakira to take the stage together, but before then they get to do some work with Shakira’s choreographer Hi-Hat. They will be singing “We Are The Champions” by Queen. They get some tips on stage presence, but will it help? This was a great vocal performance and I think Karina made up some votes for this rock-inspired song. Great job Team Shakira!

Danielle Bradbery (Team Blake) – “Maybe It Was Memphis” by Pam Tillis

She said she gets starstruck every time she gets around Blake, which is cute. Blake said she is someone that can make a difference to young people and music, but she needs to open up more. For someone who is performing for just her fourth time in front of a crowd, this girl can blow! She has such a good tone to her voice and she is pure country. She is young and that voice is just going to keep getting better and better! A standing ovation from Blake for all of Team Blake tonight!

Sasha Allen (Team Shakira) – “Oh! Darling” by The Beatles

Shakira wants to see more of her personality and bring the sexy in the song. I was a little worried when I heard Sasha in the rehearsals, but she put those worries behind me during this performance! Sasha has such a strong voice and I think we will see her for a very long time in this competition. The scream in the middle was a little much for me and at the end, but is it just me?

That’s it for the Live Playoffs on The Voice 2013 and we will be back tomorrow night with the results. Who will you be voting for tonight?
