The Voice - Season 7

Last week on The Voice USA Season 7, the Top 10 took the stage and performed for your votes on Monday night. It was another night of some great performances, including Chris Jamison impressing us, which he has been growing on us every week and this was definitely his best performance of the season! This led to another night of results on The Voice 2014 and America decided to use the Voice Save on Ryan Sill again, which meant that Reagan James from Team Blake and Anita Antoinette from Team Gwen were eliminated!

Here we go…we start by finding out that the artists on The Voice in all seven seasons have passed the 20 million mark in downloads on iTunes, which is crazy! Then the Top 8 on The Voice 2014 take the stage and perform together before we get to the big performances tonight.

This week we will see three artists head home, as the five semifinalists will be determined! Now to the performances!

Ryan Sill (Team Gwen) – “Open Arms” by Journey

Gwen tells him that he can’t screw this up and any little mistake will shine and she wants him to anti-perform and just sing. He started good and I was almost impressed. Then the song kicked in more and I was underwhelmed. He is trying too hard not to do anything and it looks awkward to me. Anyone else?

Craig Wayne Boyd (Team Blake) – “Take It Easy” by Eagles

He is the last one standing on Team Blake and I think he could make it all the way into the finale! I am a big fan of Craig and think he has that country rock voice down. This was not a great song choice, but those eyes are so nice to look at, right? He did an okay job with it, but it never had any moments that wowed me!

DaNica Shirey (Team Pharrell) – “These Dreams” by Heart

I am loving the extensions on DaNica, but I see she still has that damn piercing in her face! This is another performance that is just good. We are three artists into the night on The Voice USA 2014 and I am underwhelmed! Sure, DaNica can sing, but you are singing for a spot in the semifinals. Wow me!

We take a break from the performances and get some tweets from fans and words from the coaches, but then it is time for Nick Jonas to take the stage and perform with the Top 8. This is a great performance and he is so yummy!

Damien (Team Adam) – “Someone Like You” by Adele

Adam said he thinks Damien is the only one that should be singing Adele and he connects on the passion. I’ll be the judge of that one, Adam! I am torn on this one. I think it is such a familiar song and such a great song from Adele, so hard to touch that rendition. Damien has some moments where he sounded amazing, but then he hit some notes that were rough. Overall, a good performance on The Voice USA 2014 tonight and he nailed that ending!

Chris Jamison (Team Adam) – “Sexual Healing” by Marvin Gaye

Adam said that he wants to show the world that he is more than just sexy, so he gives Chris this song??? After Chris’ performance last week, can he top it with this??? I don’t know about showing the more serious side, but this was a great song choice and he has all the girls (and boys) picking up their phones for him. He has a great voice and it worked with this song. He is a mini-Justin Timberlake!

Luke Wade (Team Pharrell) – “Holding Back The Years” by Simply Red

I love seeing Pharrell work with his artists and he is so good. These two work well together and are vibing off each other and I love seeing it. This was slow and mellow, but Luke sang it very well. The song is slow, but he sounded good on it. I am a fan of Luke, but not sure of this will keep him in the competition this week!

We take another break and get Nick Jonas to answer some questions, including starting a boy band with Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. Then it is a performance from Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams and her new song “Spark The Fire” and it is typical Gwen, so I love it!

Taylor John Williams (Team Gwen) – “Royals” by Lorde

Gwen said they went through so many song choices this week, as it is a very important week on The Voice USA 2014. I am beyond excited to hear this one and think it is a great song choice. I have said it before and I’ll say it all the way to the finale, but I love everything about Taylor! His style is amazing and he has fun up there singing and his voice is great. This was a perfect song choice for him and he nailed it. Loved this!

Matt McAndrew (Team Adam) – “The Blower’s Daughter” by Damien Rice

Adam said that Matt always has a big production for his performances, so this song choice slows him down and this song will make everyone cry. They definitely slowed it down tonight and it gave us a chance to enjoy Matt’s voice, which I am a huge fan of. He can sing and this brought him back to his roots and he shined.
