We all know that the coaches and judges on these singing competition shows come on to help promote their own careers, which is why Shakira took the stage last night on The Voice USA 2014 and performed her new single “Empire” during The Voice results last night. This is not surprising, as we see it all the time with Jennifer Lopez on American Idol or Christina Aguilera on The Voice last season. However, this performance by Shakira shocked and disappointed me! Check out the Shakira performance on The Voice Season 6 last night below in our The Voice USA 2014 spoilers!

As seen in the video below, Shakira clearly was lip syncing this performance and not very well. Hey, maybe she is not used to doing it? Maybe she had a cold or lost her voice? Who knows, but she seemed to be talking fine throughout the whole show. Sure, she sang during certain parts of the song, but the song has some synthesized parts and she couldn’t really sing it. Um, then don’t perform the song on a live show, huh?


Especially don’t perform the song on a live show where you sit in your red chair and critique and judge how these other artists are doing. They are getting up there and singing live and then you take the stage and lip sync? I am a fan of Shakira and think she has a great voice, but this whole performance upset me!
