For the first time on The Voice, America will not get to vote during the Playoffs on The Voice USA 2014! Also, The Playoffs on The Voice USA Season 6 are normally live shows and America votes and picks two artists from each team for the Top 12 and then each coach gets to save one other artists and the Top 12 is formed. Not this season! Each coach on The Voice 2014 (Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Usher and Shakira) will have the final say of who makes the Top 12 on The Voice Season 6! The Voice - Season 6

Last night on The Voice USA Season 6, the final battles took place and we saw Blake Shelton use the final steal of the season on Madily Paige. Like it or not, but I can almost see him pulling a Danielle Bradbery with this girl and possibly winning The Voice Season 6 with her. Maybe? By the end of the night, the Top 20 on The Voice USA 2014 were in place and now they head to the New Playoffs starting tonight!

Here we go…the artists will pick their own songs tonight and sing for their coach and hope they pick them for the live shows. Team Blake is up first! Five will sing and Blake will pick three to move on to the live shows on The Voice USA 2014!

Audra McLaughlin (Team Blake) – “A Broken Wing” by Martina McBride

She said she had people telling her she would never make it when she was growing up and the message in this song is you can do anything. Blake said he is amazed by her range and she can do anything! I think Audra has an amazing country voice. We all know Blake loves his country singers and will work with them far past when the season ends. She is beautiful and has a voice to match…great performance!

Ryan Whyte Maloney (Team Blake) – “Second Chance” by Shinedown

This is the garbage man turned musician. He said he heard this song during a time in his life when he had to make a decision. Blake said this is a tough song and he is worried about him on this one. He said if it is good than it could be unbelievably good. I like Ryan and think he has a good voice there and hits some big notes, but then the song seemed to overpower him at times too. He is so comfortable on that stage though and I like that!

Madilyn Paige (Team Blake) – “Clarity” by Zedd featuring Foxes

She is a junior in high school and loves making short films and writing her own songs. This was Blake’s steal during The Battles Round 2 on The Voice USA 2014. He doesn’t think we have seen what she is capable of yet. He tells her she needs to get lost in the song though. I do agree with Blake and think Madilyn has a lot of potential, but she is so young and needs more work. There are better singers on his team and she might get hurt by that one.

Jake Worthington (Team Blake) – “Anywhere With You” by Jake Owen

Jake auditioned during Season 5, but did not get a chair to turn around for him. Now he is on The Voice Season 6 and got three coaches to turn for him and now Blake Shelton said he is the real deal. He is singing this song to his girlfriend, who he has been with for three years and been with him through it all. He said she is the only one that treats him like a skinny guy! He has such a solid country voice and looked very comfortable up there tonight. Will Blake go all country this season? I just like Jake and his personality and he is just a good guy and you want to root for him!

Sisaundra Lewis (Team Blake) – “New York State of Mind” by Billy Joel

Before joining The Voice USA 2014, Sisaundra toured five years with Celine Dion and then was a stay-at-home mom. She said this song reminds her of living in New York City and sacrificing so much for her kids. Blake does not want her to go all over the place with this performance and she doesn’t need to do it. She is beyond solid and Blake is lucky to have her on his team this season. How he landed her is beyond me, but he needs to keep her around. Her range is amazing and did show off the lower register on this one and was phenomenal!

Now it is time for Blake Shelton to decide which three artists move on to the live shows and which two artists will be heading home on The Voice 2014! The artists moving on to the live shows are:

  • Sisaundra Lewis
  • Audra McLaughlin
  • Jake Worthington

That means that Ryan Whyte Maloney and Madilyn Paige have been eliminated tonight on The Voice Season 6. What do you think of the results on The Voice USA 2014 tonight?
