The performances on The Voice USA 2013 are taking place tonight on NBC, as the Top 8 on The Voice USA Season 5 take the stage one more time and perform for your votes in hopes of surviving the elimination tomorrow night. Another two singers will say goodbye this week, which will be extra hard to see! Can’t The Voice 2013 just eliminate one singer a week to keep the show on longer??? I don’t think it is possible, so in the meantime check out the performances tonight with us during our The Voice USA 2013 Top 8 Performances Spoilers Recap!

The Voice - Season 5

Last week on The Voice Season 5, the Top 10 performed for us and another two singers were voted off. It looks like the instant Twitter Save is sticking around, as Carson Daly announced the bottom three singers again, which I was shocked to hear those names. You just never know with this competition, but America did tweet for the right person to save! We now have a Top 8 on The Voice USA 2013 and they take the stage tonight!

Besides the Top 8 taking the stage tonight, we will need to fill up even more time, so we get a special performer tonight. Robin Thicke takes the stage again on The Voice and performs his hit single “Feel Good.” It does feel good knowing we will see his face tonight on The Voice 2013!

***************************************************************

Here we go…we kick things off with the former advisor Robin Thicke taking the stage to perform his new single “Feel Good.” He looks so much like his Dad, but he is very easy on the eyes. I love his voice! Now time for the Top 8 on The Voice USA 2013 to perform:

James Wolpert (Team Adam) – “Somebody To Love” by Queen

This song was the choice by James. Adam said this song is bold and he loves that. He thinks he is going to blow their minds. His girlfriend helped him with this arrangement during his a capella days, so will it work this time? For James, he has this ability to hit the big notes, which sound great. There are a few singers in this competition that can do that. He starts rough and I am not impressed, but than he hits that big note and it starts working for him afterwards. The arrangement may have been too weird for me at times.

Tessanne Chin (Team Adam) – “Underneath It All” by No Doubt

Christina Aguilera said she wanted to see different elements from her last week and hear that Jamaican accent come out more. This song allows that. Tessanne says she gets to dabble in her culture with this song, but what she loves to do: have a big ol’ party! We definitely get the Jamaican vibe with this song and I loved it. Why? Maybe it was not the best vocal from Tessanne, but she has a great voice and was having fun. This was entertaining and fun to watch, which is the sign of a star! Good job, Tessanne!

Caroline Pennell (Team CeeLo) – “Dog Days Are Over” by Florence + The Machine

Caroline said it is easy to feel discouraged after coming in in the bottom three last week. They talk about things and think she needs to do something out of left field. CeeLo thinks people love seeing this side of her and she can show off that indie vibe with this performance. I think this was a great song choice for Caroline and she sounded great with this. She also looked determined on that stage and ready to kick some butt to stay another week on The Voice USA 2013!

Carson Daly talks with Robin Thicke for a little bit (to waste time) and then we get a special performance from Will Champlin, Ray Boudreaux, Cole Vosbury and Tessanne Chin. They sing “One Day” and it is so good. Talk about some major soul being on that stage!

Cole Vosbury (Team Blake) – “I Still Believe In You” by Vince Gill

Cole said that country lies deep in his heart and he looked up to some of the artists he looked up to as a child were country artists. The band was too overpowering for Blake Shelton, so he cut it out and just made it Cole and his guitar. Yeah, Cole has some big ol’ country roots and it showed with this performance. He sounded so good up there singing with that guitar. He made it country-like, but kept his voice in there and I enjoyed it.

Matthew Schuler (Team Christina) – “It’s Time” by Imagine Dragons

Matthew said this song is totally the type of artist he wants to be. Christina said there is an honesty in the vocal he delivers. She brings in her choreographer and wants to do a military theme and be strong. He hopes this performance has the power behind it to make America vote for him. If this is the type of artist he wants to be, he may be in trouble. He sounded just like the original and while that may be a good thing, he didn’t put his twist on it and who he wants to be as an artist. I still can’t connect with this guy!

The other four artists (Caroline Pennell, Matthew Schuler, James Wolpert and Jacquie Lee) take to the stage to perform “Lego House” by advisor Ed Sheeran. Not as impressed with this routine. How about you?

Will Champlin (Team Adam) – “At Last” by Etta James

Adam said he continues to surprise him every week. His teammates say that he is always working and works so hard. Adam said he has never done anything like this and at the end you have to take risks. He said he uses the energy of thinking to sing, but this performance has to be the opposite. Talk about a great song choice for Will tonight on The Voice USA Season 5, huh? He nailed this performance and the emotion was so high. Great job for him and I so hope he is safe again for another week!

Ray Boudreaux (Team Blake) – “Gimme Some Lovin'” by Spencer Davis Group

Blake said they went back to his soul roots last week and America embraced him. He now wants to continue that support and picks this song for him. Ray has been baffling me the past couple weeks. I did not think he was going to make it this far and was not aware of the support he had out there. He does have a good voice and is pretty to look at, but does he have a voice that could sell records? I just can’t see him being the winner of this season.

Jacquie Lee (Team Christina) – “Who’s Loving You” by Jackson 5

Christina said they are getting back to their roots and the soul side of things. She thinks they can tap into some emotions for this song and be aggressive. She said Jacquie tends to smile a lot when she performs, but Christina wants her to get angry for this performance. I will give it up to Jacquie on this performance and think she sounded amazing on it. My problem: she gets so big on some of the notes and it annoys me. It seems she is overpowering on the notes and she needs to reel it in a little.
