We kicked off the Knockout Rounds last night on The Voice USA Season 3 and they did not disappoint. It was nice getting a chance to see some of those singers that were not shown during the Battle Rounds, like Holly Henry when she took on Nic Hawk for Team Blake. The results may have surprised some people, but the battle was very good and both have their own style. Blake knows how to put a winning team together, so don’t doubt his decisions!
Tonight the final Knockout Rounds are held and the final steals are used for the season. Watch it go down with our recap starting soon!
WARNING: THE VOICE USA 2013 SPOILERS AHEAD!
The following post contains videos from tonight’s episode of The Voice 2013 Season 5 Knockout Rounds. Don’t want to see them yet or see who went home on The Voice USA Season 5 tonight, then don’t look ahead!!!

Here we go…
Team Adam: Lina Gaudenza vs. Preston Pohl
Lina is one of Adam’s steals and will be singing “I’d Rather Go Blind” by Etta James. He wants her to commit to the song and she could blow people away if she does that. Preston will be singing “No Woman, No Cry” by Bob Marley. Adam said it is a very laid back song and would be worried about someone singing it, but not for Preston. I was worried about Lina in this round, but she comes out and nails her performance and has such a great voice. Preston does a great job with his performance and he has a great voice, but the song was a little boring. Adam said it is tough to pick a winner here, but has to go with his gut!
Winner: Preston Pohl; no steals
Team Blake: E.G. Daily vs. Ray Boudreaux
He thinks they both have blues influences in their voices, so he put them head-to-head. E.G. is singing “I Can’t Make You Love Me” by Bonnie Raitt. Blake tells her she has so much power in her voice and needs to trust her voice and play this song softer. Ray is singing “Hard To Handle” by Otis Redding. Blake tells him to watch falling flat at parts. To be honest, I liked E.G. more in rehearsals and she was boring to me during her performance. Ray has a great voice and sounded good on this voice, but it was nothing special either. I want to see fireworks people! Blake said that Ray makes him feel like less of a man. He said they both did what he told them.
Winner: Ray Boudreaux; no steals
Team Christina: Anthony Paul vs. Jacquie Lee
She thinks they are both young, pop singers with so much potential. Anthony is one of Christina’s steals from the Battle Rounds. He will be singing “The Other Side” by Jason Derulo. She thinks he is more talented vocally than this song is allowing him to be. Jacquie is “Stompa” by Serena Ryder. Christina thinks she is soft-spoken, but has this lion that comes out like a lion on certain notes and needs her stage presence to be like her vocals. I was not a huge fan of Anthony Paul during the Battle Round and this performance does nothing for me again. Jacquie has a great voice, but she is so awkward trying to work that stage. She is young and that will come with more experience though. Christina said that Anthony is a better vocalist than he showed and Jacquie has incredible range and she has soul that is from her gut.
Winner: Jacquie Lee; no steals
Team CeeLo: Stephanie Anne Johnson vs. Tamara Chauniece
CeeLo said they both have strong voices and soulful deliveries, so he wants to see who does better tonight. Stephanie Anne was one of CeeLo’s steals. She is singing “Don’t Know Why” by Norah Jones. She said she wants her voice to sound like soul food tastes. Tamara comes from a gospel family and will be singing “No One” by Alicia Keys, but in a reggae style. I liked Stephanie Anne during the battles and I think she seems like a really good person and nails this performance. Tamara has a great voice and beautiful on that stage on The Voice USA 2013, but I am going with Stephanie Anne on this one! CeeLo thought Stephanie Anne was singing through some nerves and that Tamara sounds like a young Anita Baker.
Winner: Tamara Chauniece; she may not have picked her in the Battle Rounds, but Christina steals Stephanie Anne back!
Team Adam: James Wolpert vs. Juhi
He thinks they are both different singers on his team, so wanted to see them go against each other. James will be singing “More Than A Feeling” by Boston. Adam said this is the most challenging song in the history of rock and roll. Juhi will be singing “Heard It Through The Grapevine” by Marvin Gaye, but the Creedence Clearwater Revival version. James is such a shocker and you look at him and wonder how that voice comes out of him. He is so good and even Juhi was back there shocked and having fun! This a crappy matchup on The Voice 2013, as I love both of them and Juhi does so good, but how can you standup to that performance by James, right? Adam said James was not perfect tonight, but he was in rehearsals and Juhi took the notes and did a wonderful job.
Winner: James Wolpert; no steals
Team Blake: Austin Jenckes vs. Brandon Chase
Blake said they are both emotional singers with country influence and he wants to see who moves the audience. Austin is singing “I’ll Be” by Edwin McCain. The song is about a relationship between a man and woman, but he changes the lyrics to be about a father and son, which is to go for his father who committed suicide. Brandon is a driven person and graduated high school at the age of 17! He will be singing “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” by Eli Young Band. Brandon takes the song up an octave and Blake likes that and thinks it could have a huge payoff, but could fail big time too! Austin is such a good singer and he gets those emotions of the song and nails this. Brandon has a great country voice and is very easy on the eyes, but didn’t feel the connection like Austin. Blake said they were both pitchy, but he thought Austin did a perfect job.
Winner: Austin Jenckes; no steals
Team CeeLo: Caroline Pennell vs. George Horga, Jr.
He paired them together because they both have a youthful and commercial image, so he wants to see who shines more. Caroline is singing “The Way I Am” by Ingrid Michaelson and George is singing “Because of You” by Ne-Yo. He wants to be the type of artists like Bruno Mars and Justin Timberlake. CeeLo said he gets better when he gains more confidence in the song. Caroline has that indie voice that I love. She is very solid with her performance and is fun to listen to. George is trying to be some pop star and I am not feeling it from him. This was a pretty boring performance from him. CeeLo said he loves George and he is like a brother to him. He saw a twinkle in Caroline’s eye tonight.
Winner: Caroline Pennell; no steals
Team Christina: Matthew Schuler vs. Will Champlin
She matched them up on The Voice USA 2013 tonight because she wants to see who can ignite the crowd tonight. Matthew is singing “Cosmic Love” by Florence + The Machine. This is a female lyric and Christina thinks it is going to be a challenge. He has a big voice, but she thinks he pushes too hard and needs to pace himself. Will was one of Christina’s steals and he will be singing “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars. He wants to show who he is as an artist. Christina wants him to take the vulnerable approach on this one. Matthew is a great singer and does a good job, but the song just ended weird to me. Will brought it tonight and brings so much emotion to that performance and was great. Christina said they had to dig deep for this performance. She said Will came out here like a champ tonight and Matthew slayed that song.
Winner: Matthew Schuler; Adam uses his steal and he takes Will Champlin back to Team Adam!
That is it for tonight on The Voice USA 2013 and we have the singers for the Live Playoffs next week. What do you think of the choices tonight?
