****************************************************************

Here we go…

Team Christina: Amber Nicole vs. Josh Logan
Christina put them together, even though they are are from different genres, but she wants to see who can control the stage. Amber will be singing “Mamma Knows Best” by Jessie J and Josh will be singing “Living For The City” by Stevie Wonder. She said that Josh’s biggest opponent is getting inside his head. Amber starts it out and she has such strong stage presence. She has a great voice, but this seems more like a performance from a musical and not a concert. Okay, Josh sounds so much like Stevie it is so crazy. Does he have his own thing or is he just copying? Christina wanted Amber to bring the character and she did. She loves Josh’s voice and he keeps surprising the coaches!
Winner: Josh Logan! However, we got a steal folks as CeeLo and Blake both hit their buttons! Amber said she is ready for a challenge and she picks Team CeeLo!

Team CeeLo: Kat Robichaud vs. Monika Leigh
He thinks they are both strong female singers and wants to see who gives the more show-stopping performance tonight. Kat will be singing “You Oughta Know” by Alanis Morissette. That is a lot of words in those lyrics, so will she get it? Monika is one of CeeLo’s steals from the Battle Rounds. She is singing “Hit The Road Jack” by Ray Charles and wants to show both her soulful and rock side of her. We get the signature leg kick from Kat and she starts rough for me, but she kicked it in big time and I just love her rocker voice. Monika started slower, but then turned it up and made it into a very good performance. This is going to be a tough one for CeeLo.
Winner: Kat Robichaud; no steals

Team Blake: Holly Henry vs. Nic Hawk
Blake said they both put their own twist into whatever they sing, so he wants to see what they do against each other on The Voice USA 2013. Holly is singing “Creep” by Radiohead. She said this song is perfect for her and it builds and hits the emotions. Blake thinks it is a great song for her, but it is very challenging vocally. Nic is singing “Genie In A Bottle” by Christina Aguilera! Nic is one of Blake’s steals. He is totally changing the arrangement, but Blake said he is all over the place with the lower register, but nails the top. Holly is a great singer and the song choice is a great one and she nails it. There is something about Nic that just makes you want to root for him and he started slower, but loved the ending. His arrangement was great and made it his own. Blake said there was a total display of two artists who know who they want to be.
Winner: Nic Hawk; no steals

Team Adam: Ashley DuBose vs. Tessanne Chin
This is a battle of the four-chair turnarounds, as they both got all four coaches turning around. Adam said this is the battle of power. Ashley is singing “Hey, Soul Sister” by Train. She said she has been very serious throughout the competition and this is a chance to show off her more fun side. Tessanne is singing “Stronger” by Kelly Clarkson. She said the song has a great message and she wants to showcase her vocals in a certain way. Ashley has a great voice, but this seemed like a weird song choice and I was disappointed with the performance. Tessanne started very much like the original, but she changed it up as it went on and nailed it!
Winner: Tessanne Chin; no steals

Team Blake: Briana Cuoco vs. Shelbie Z.
Briana is another steal for Team Blake. He thinks they are both so prepared for their performances, so that is why he put them against each other. Briana is singing “Don’t Speak” by No Doubt and Blake wants her to lose control. Shelbie Z. is singing “Last Name” by Carrie Underwood and sings this song in many contests and wins, so she is hoping to win this one too. Briana does show off a great rocker voice and she does really well and better than I have seen her. However, Shelbie Z. owned that song and owned that stage and was so confident.
Winner: Shelbie Z.; no steals

Team Adam: Grey vs. James Irwin
Adam thinks they are both technically great singers, but he wants to see who can step it up a notch during these Knockout Rounds on The Voice USA 2013. Grey is singing “Already Gone” by kelly Clarkson. She wants to be the storyteller when she sings, like this song does. James will be singing “Breakeven” by The Script. Adam thinks he sings it great, but wants him to connect with the song. Grey had a great performance, but James did even better and I actually liked him for the first time this season and he connected big time with that song.
Winner: Grey; no steals

Team Christina: Destinee Quinn vs. Olivia Henken
Whoever loses this round will be picked up by Team Blake. Destinee is singing “See You Again” by Carrie Underwood. This song has real mening to her, so Christina is glad she can pick her own song. Olivia is singing “You’re No Good” by Linda Ronstadt. Christina said she tried to pick out every big moment for this song and she needs to let it flow. She comes on strong in the end, but I wasn’t feeling the emotion from her. I am just feeling it more from Olivia and I loved this performance, even though I didn’t like the song choice at first!
Winner: Olivia Henken; no steals

Team CeeLo: Jonny Gray vs. Cole Vosbury
CeeLo wants to see who makes a better connection with the audience for the last Knockout Round of the night on The Voice 2013. Cole is singing “Let Her Go” by Passenger. Jonny is singing “We Can Work It Out” by The Beatles. This a battle of the long hair and I am jealous! Cole is a very good singer and hasn’t been shown enough this season! He sounded very good on this song. Jonny has a great voice and makes it look so natural. Adam said these are his two biggest regrets and no matter who CeeLo picks, he will pick the other one!
Winner: Jonny Gray; Adam stuck to his word and hit his button, but Blake Shelton hits his button too! He picks Team Blake!
