The wait is finally over as The Biggest Loser 2013 premiere kicks off tonight on NBC and making her return is Jillian Michaels, who took some time off the show to focus on her personal projects. Jillian will be joined by Bob Harper and Dolvett Quince as trainers on The Biggest Loser Season 14 and Alison Sweeney returns as host. It is The Biggest Loser: Challenge America, as the show takes on childhood obesity for the first time and includes three young contestants on The Biggest Loser 2013. Find out who was eliminated on The Biggest Loser 2013 tonight during my The Biggest Loser Season 14 recap.

The season kicks off with 15 new contestants all wanting to focus on their health and finally get their weight under control. While we have seen some very hefty contestants in the past, The Biggest Loser 2013 will feature only one contestant that starts over 400 pounds! That is a big change, but another big change is the addition of child contestants. Each of the 15 contestants will be split into three teams of five. As a cheerleader/mascot for each team will be one of the child contestants.

Some have complained about the children being included on The Biggest Loser Season 14, but I am a huge fan of it. I think childhood obesity is a huge issue in our country and maybe this could put a positive spin on it. The children will not participate in the weigh-ins or the eliminations, which can get ugly at times. They will also not be living in the house with the adult contestants, so in actuality, they are just mascots and a ploy for the show to bring in viewers. They will workout and learn a healthier lifestyle, so props to NBC for trying something different.
