Rising Star 2014 Spoilers: ABC Premiere In One Week! (PHOTOS)
| June 15, 2014 at 12:32 PM EDTI guess the summer has no singing competition shows, so ABC thinks it is a perfect time to debut another attempt at a singing competition reality show for the network, as Rising Star 2014 makes it’s television debut in one week! It is a twist on the normal singing competition, as Rising Star on ABC airs live and America will be voting live to determine the results! The Rising Star experts (Kesha, Ludacris and Brad Paisley) will only be there to give advice and critiques, but then voting and results are done through social media! From the ABC press site, here is the official synopsis for Rising Star 2014:
“ABC’s new reality series Rising Star completely reinvents the traditional singing competition as–for the first time ever–the audience has the final say in real time. The show follows a group of aspiring singers as they audition in live performances. During the performances, viewers vote via an App in real time to determine if the singer will advance in the competition. If the voting reaches a certain threshold, the performer moves on, and the performer can see how the voting is going during the performance, so the feedback is immediate and dramatic.”
This could get interesting, as the contestants will see their votes coming in and see if they might be safe or not. If not, how crazy would that tension be and how much will that affect their singing? Josh Groban will serve as the host of Rising Star 2014, so all new faces taking center stage for ABC!
