| June 29, 2014 at 8:00 PM EDTOne can only hope that Rising Star 2014 will get better tonight on ABC or we are in for another long two hours of performers trying to Raise The Wall on Rising Star on ABC! They definitely hyped this up to be some exciting and thrilling show and the fans would be involved. However, it turned out to be a night of people voting and hoping to see their Facebook picture show up on the wall! Week 2 on ABC’s Rising Star can only get better, right? Find out during our Rising Star 2014 Recap and see the Rising Star auditions 2014 continue!
Last week on Rising Star on ABC, the night started with so much hope for ABC and ended with a girl “picked from the audience” to audition for America and the Rising Star judges 2014 (Kesha, Ludacris and Brad Paisley). This was not staged at all! It felt so natural, just like Josh Groban trying to be the host! It was a rough premiere and I am hoping they work out the kinks for tonight, as I am a fan of everyone involved with this show and hope they can make it work, especially since Sunday nights are boring after Big Brother 2014 airs!

Here we go…remember, the singers have to get to 70% and the experts voting yes on them will add 7% each.
Shameia Crawford – She lives in Atlanta, Georgia, and she is a background singer. Her and her husband are in the music industry, as she is a singer and he is a producer. She believes she is at a crossroads and needs this opportunity or she will be forever a background singer. She sings “We Are Young” and she starts real slow, but kicks it in as the song goes on. The experts all vote for her, but she will remain a background singer! She gets to 69% and the wall does not rise, but how close is that one?
**Video Coming Soon**
April Lockhart – She is 18 years old from New Jersey. She wanted to be a rock and roll girl since a child. She was born without one hand, but still managed to get through guitar lessons. I think she will get a lot of sympathy votes, but she does have a different kind of voice and I am liking it. She sings “Say You’ll Be There” by the Spice Girls and I like it. Her numbers are rising, but Ludacris and Brad Paisley send her over and she has raised the wall and is moving on! She ends at 85%!
**Video Coming Soon**
Austin French – He is 20 years old and a full-time worship pastor. He sings “Georgia On My Mind” and he has such an old-school voice for such a young guy. He has a strong voice and is cute, so that is going to work well for him. He gets to 87% and is moving on to the next round on Rising Star 2014!
**Video Coming Soon**
Trinitii – They are three women, three voices and one sound! They teach students their musical talents. The lead singer had a good voice, but one of them just had an annoying voice and it drove me insane. They sing “Problem” and it just seems like a hot mess. It is too chaotic and they get to 30% and will be heading home!
**Video Coming Soon**
Alice J. Lee – She is 25 years old from Chicago. She grew up in a musical household and always knew she wanted to perform. She has mainly done musical theater. She sings “You and I” and I am liking her voice. She has that deep sound to it and she is very solid. You can see that musical theater side of her when she performs though. The experts help push her over-the-edge and she gets to 73% and is moving on to the next round!
**Video Coming Soon**
Rye Davis – He is 25 years old and a cattle farmer. He played baseball in college, but then got his by a baseball and was blinded in one of his eyes. He did get back into baseball and made it to the minors, but that is where he figured out he loved singing. He sings “When You Sat Nothing At All” and the country fans are going to come out and vote for him. I don’t think he is that strong, but we shall see. He can’t hit those higher notes and it hurts him, as he gets to 46% and is headed home.
**Video Coming Soon**
Sonnet Simmons – She was born in Greece. Apparently her mother joined a cult in Europe when she was 18 years old, so Sonnet was born in a cult! Her mother got the strength to leave and Sonnet has always had music in her life. She sings “Wicked Game” and she has that bigger, stronger voice. She has some pitchy moments, but then she hits the big notes to make up for it. It works, as she gets to 81% and will be moving on!
**Video Coming Soon**
Deedra Ervin – She is 20 years old and in the Army Reserve. She went back to the East Coast and works on a boat. Her house just burned down, so currently she is homeless. She is trying to bring happiness to her family at this point. She sings “Anything Could Happen” and not sure if it will happen for her tonight on Rising Star 2014! She has a raspiness to her voice that sounds good at moments, but she just isn’t that strong. She gets to 26% and is eliminated.
**Video Coming Soon**
Will Roth – He is 24 years old and a veterinary tech during the day and by night he is a private investigator! He sings “Sweater Weather” and he has this weird face going on when he sings. He does have a good voice and a strong stage presence, which gets him to 83% and he is moving on!
**Video Coming Soon**
Egypt Dixon – She lives in a small town and people tend to get trapped and never leave! Josh Groban tells her that she needs to be strong on this song and it is a song that demands a lot of swagger. She sings “Fancy” and I am torn. This is such a tough song to take on and she has some good moments, but then some very weak moments. I think it was a bad song choice and it hurt her, as she gets to 44% and is headed home.
**Video Coming Soon**
Adam James – He is 24 years old and plays music every day. He used to play air guitar and his Dad said he was the best guitar player ever. His Dad has been his biggest fan, but he passed away a year ago in a car accident, so Adam is doing this for him tonight! He sings “I Won’t Give Up” and he is a very good-looking guy and connects with the emotional side of things. His voice is good and it gets him to 87% and is moving on!
**Video Coming Soon**
Megan Tibbits – She is 26 years old from Caro, Michigan. She was in a touring band with her family as a child and they had a bunch of weird instruments. That is how she got interested in the harp, which she is bringing to us tonight on Rising Star 2014. She sings “All of Me” and it is interesting putting the harp in there. She is interesting, but ends with 68% and is waiting on the West Coast to see if she makes it through.
