We got to see the Last Comic Standing 2014 premiere last night on NBC and it was out first chance to see some of the 100 comics that got invitations to come perform their set in front of the Last Comic Standing judges 2014 (Roseanne, Russell Peters and Keenan Ivory Wayans). It was a night of laughter and some pretty good sets and seeing some of them not make it through made me question what these judges were thinking! Last Comic Standing - Season 8

Last night on Last Comic Standing Season 8, JB Smoove kicked things off and we got right into the performances. A group of comics will perform for the judges and then they discuss the comics and decide who moves on and who goes home. By the end of the two hours, we had 14 comics that will be competing in the semifinals. They are:

  • Mark Normand
  • Dave Landau
  • Aida Rodriguez
  • Joe Machi
  • Rod Man
  • Dana Eagle
  • Nick Guerra
  • Erin Jackson
  • Mike Vecchione
  • Jasper Redd
  • Lachlan Patterson
  • Tyree Elaine
  • Jimmy Shubert

From this group, I enjoy most of them and am intrigued to see what else they have to offer. I was a little surprised that Lynne Koplitz, who had Joan Rivers as a mentor, did not make it through. Guy Branum was also funny and got cut. They all can get a good first set, but the next round will show how strong they are and how much material they actually have to work with.
