Last Comic Standing 2014 Spoilers: Season 8 Premiere In One Week!

NBC is trying to revive a show that has been in and out of life for years now, but it looks like Last Comic Standing 2014 will live again and this time with Wanda Sykes as one of the executive producers. We love us some Wanda Sykes and hope she can bring life into Last Comic Standing Season 8! We have a new host and new judges on Last Comic Standing 2014, so they are pulling out all the stops to make it relevant and happening this time around. In addition to Wanda Sykes joining Last Comic Standing Season 8, we also will have JB Smoove serve as host for Season 8 and the Last Comic Standing judges will be comedy icons Roseanne Barr and Keenen Ivory Wayans, along with international comic sensation Russell Peters. I am liking what I am hearing so far!

According to the official press release:

“The top 100 comics in America will vie for 20 spots. These 20 will then compete in a semifinal round and the best of the best will emerge, with the top 10 moving into the compelling challenge rounds. In this phase, they will compete in different comedy disciplines, such as sketch, improv and stand-up, proving themselves both individually and in teams.”

In the end, one of them will be named the winner of Last Comic Standing Season 8 and take home a prize package that includes an NBC talent deal and a half-hour scripted project to be developed by Universal Television.

Last Comic Standing 2014 premieres next Thursday (5/22/2014) at 9/8c on NBC and moves to it’s regular time, 10/9c, every week following!
