With the Last Comic Standing 2014 premiere happening tonight, the official journey to finding the winner of Last Comic Standing Season 8 starts! We’ve had some time off from the show, but thanks to Wanda Sykes it is back for another run on NBC. The 100 comics competing on Last Comic Standing 2014 will begin tonight, but it looks like they’ll have some guest mentors along the way that has me overly excited! Last Comic Standing

The comics this season will be judged by Roseanne Barr, Keenan Ivory Wayans and Russell Peters. JB Smoove wil serve as host and Wanda Sykes is a producer. They will also be put through different challenges every week, with guest mentors helping them along the way. According to the official press release:

“As the players progress in the competition, they’ll be mentored by the special guests through fun and innovative challenges designed to test them in different comedy disciplines, ranging from sketch to improve to stand-up. Highlighting the challenges will be a visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where the comics will be put to the test by Ellen herself and mentored by favorite talk show guest Sykes on how to shine in interviews.”

That list of guest mentors, besides Ellen DeGeneres, includes:

  • Howie Mandel
  • Gilbert Gottfried
  • Amy Schumer
  • Wanda Sykes
  • Cheryl Hines
  • Jeff Ross

Those are the mentors announced so far, but I am sure there will be some guest appearances along the way! This is going to be a fun and funny ride and I am so excited Last Comic Standing 2014 is back on the air! Check out a preview here:
