NBCUniversal Events - Season 2014

Last week on Last Comic Standing Season 8, the final invitationals round took place and the comedians performed their sets for the Last Comic Standing judges 2014 (Roseanne, Keenan Ivory Wayans and Russell Peters) and were hoping to move on to the next round. I know we are only seeing little snippets of their sets, but I am wanting to see more from these comedians. Some of them seem great to me, but then the judges send them home. Then others don’t seem that funny and they make it to the next round!

Here we go…for Round 1, 14 of the comedians will perform tonight and five of them will move on to the Top 10 and be a finalist for Season 8! Let’s do this!

Jimmy Shubert – He is a veteran comic hoping to become a household name. Amy said his big struggle will be working with less time when he is used to working longer sets. They tells him to work on his set and slow it down. He has been doing this for years, so he is so comfortable on stage and I liked him a lot better tonight than I did for his Invitational performance. It was humorous, but just not my style.

Mike Vecchione – Amy said he has so many funny tags he is used to for a longer set, but throw them out for the shorter set. I was not a fan of his at the Invitationals and he started slow tonight, but then I laughed out loud and I enjoyed him. He had a much better set and good for him!

Karlous Miller – He is a former firefighter and I loved him during his Invitationals set. Wanda said he built a great set and closed great. He tells them he does not rehearse, but Amy tells him to rehearse and he could get even better. He used a lot of race jokes and I wasn’t impressed tonight, but he had some other good jokes in there and I am torn on how I feel about him!

Tommy Ryman – He didn’t get much time before and not much time tonight either. He is not highlighted, but how did he make it this far? Chloe Hilliard – I enjoy her and wish they would have shown more on her. Mark Normand – Another one not shown much, but he had some good jokes in there. Tracey Ashley – She was strong the first time around and I liked her here, but it scares me with these quick looks tonight! I am a fan of hers!

Aida Rodriguez – She has been doing comedy for six years and is excited to get some words of advice from women comics. Keenan told her to tone down the sex appeal, but Wanda and Amy told her to not tone it down and work it out! I love her jokes and her delivery. She is confident up there and she had me laughing!

Yamaneika Saunders – One of those comedians that was not shown much during the Invitationals and not again tonight! Mike Gaffney – I really liked him the first time and think he was good now, but it was very short. DeAnne Smith – Was not a fan the first time and not a fan this time either. “Tell it to my balls” was not funny. Nick Guerra – I loved him the first set and I wanted to see more from him, even though we got a quick look tonight!

Monroe Martin – Wanda said he is so funny and had a great set. She said there were moments when he could add some physicality into his act. He just wants to get better with every performance on Last Comic Standing 2014! I’m just not a fan of his and his jokes are just okay to me…nothing special.

Joe Machi – He tells Wanda and Amy that sometimes you have a good night and he is no better than the other comedians, but Amy said that is not true and he has put in the work and he is good at what he does. His voice is so strange and his delivery is so awkward, but it works for him and I enjoy him. I think he will go far this season!

The 14 comedians have performed for tonight and now the judges will discuss which five comedians move on to the Top 10 on Last Comic Standing 2014. Who do you think should move on?

The judges have made their decision and the five comedians moving on to the Top 10 are:

  • Monroe Martin
  • Joe Machi
  • Karlous Miller
  • Aida Rodriguez
  • Jimmy Shubert
