Bachelor 2012 Courtney Robertson Best Friend Says She Was Edited To Look Bitchy
| February 24, 2012 at 1:31 PM ESTBachelor 2012 Courtney Robertson best friend says she was edited to look bitchy. In a new interview with HollywoodLife.com, Courtney’s hairdresser and close friend Kris Jones insists that Courtney was edited to look mean, because she is nothing like she seems in real life. He says the model is actually a “down-to-earth” girl with “zero attitude.” Kris thinks Ben Flajnik would be a fool not to a pick a girl like Courtney.
“I believe everything is usually taped well in advance, so there’s a lot of editing involved,” Kris explains. “I know there’s things that were shown in a certain context where they were in a totally different setting, [the girls were] just joking around talking hypothetically. Then they’ll take a scene and be like, ‘Oh I’ll shave that girl’s eyebrows off,’ — clip it and take it like she’s actually talking about someone who is in the house.”
He adds that Courtney isn’t really that mean. “She’s amazing. I love her,” gushes Kris. “You would never guess that she’s a working model that actually has a job. In LA — models are a dime a dozen. One that’s working that’s down-to-earth, cool and real is nice to have.”
When Courtney is seen acting tough on TV, it’s just her developed defense mechanism. “As a model, they get jealousy and girls that will just hate for any reason. They have to develop a thick skin. To be successful as a model, you have to approach it as if you make friends, great, but you’re not there to make friends. Some people may take that as bitchy, other people take it as professional. I take it as confidence and someone who can handle negativity.”
“It’s so funny to us that they are portraying her like that because she’s so not,” continues Kris. “She’s super polite and zero attitude at all, really down to earth. She’s always so gracious, thankful and appreciative.”
Courtney was initially upset by the way fans were bashing her. “I think at first it was shocking and she felt like hiding,” admits Kris. “I tell her, ‘Be happy they’re talking about you. I’m sure for just as many people that hate you, there are twice as many who love you.’”
“[Now,] it’s gotten to the point where we sat there and laughed about all the things they were saying,” says Kris. “She’s one of those who takes it with a grain of salt, like, ‘This is what it is. I signed up for it, so let it be.’”
Kris doesn’t know if Courtney ends up with Ben. “He seems like a more normal guy, not this rich dude with a vineyard. He seems down-to-earth,” notes Kris. “I could see them having fun together. With a girl like that, any guy would be a fool not to pick her.”
“He needs a haircut,” Kris says with a laugh.
