*****************************************************************************************

Here we go…hey, do you all know that we have a Top 5 of all girls??? It’s the first time in the history of Idol and they make sure to tell us all the time!!! We get it…you stacked the deck to make sure it happens, right? Ryan Seacrest sends a special message to everyone in Boston.

Candice Glover – She sings “Straight Up” by Paula Abdul. I was wondering how she was going to do such an upbeat song like this, but she she totally made this song her own and I loved it. This was a new song from the original and Candice knocked it out of the park on this one. Great start to the show and great start for her…she had me nervous tonight! On a side note: can Nicki Minaj put her boobs away tonight? They are way out there!!!

Janelle Arthur – She sings “When I Call Your Name” by Vince Gill. She brings out the big guitar for this performance and I am not sure. This is not a song I recognize, but she has some great moments in the performance. She has good tone in the song, but does it really connect with anyone??? She needs a big, amazing, wow performance tonight and this wasn’t it.

Kree Harrison – She sings “She Talks To Angels” by The Black Crowes. Kree even admits that no one would expect her to sing this song and she nails that one on the head, but who is glad that she did pick it? She looks so calm and cool on that stage and looks gorgeous right now! She puts Kree on a Black Crowes song and to me that is the sign of a winner! I loved it!

Angie Miller – She sings “I’ll Stand By You” by The Pretenders. She starts out by dedicating this song to her hometown of Boston. She is sitting behind the piano, which everyone seems to love her there but this one falls short for me. I don’t know what it is, but her voice sounds weird to me and there is no connection to the lyrics. This is an emotional song (and she even dedicated it to Boston) and it seemed she was emotionless and going through the routines, but she gets a standing ovation from the American Idol judges 2013 besides Nicki.

Amber Holcomb – She sings “Without You” by Air Supply (also by judge Mariah Carey). This performance on American Idol 2013 starts out a little too slow and mellow for me and I was worried, but Amber kicked it in in the middle and it sounds real good. This is a classic though and hard to compare to Mariah, but she hits some amazing notes and I am impressed.

Candice Glover – She sings “When You Believe” by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. It’s time for the diva songs and this song choices was perfect for Candice. She can dig into the emotion of a song and does that with this performance. She has the vocals to take on a song like this, but she seemed a little too calm in points for me, but makes it worth it at the end and ends on a great note. The judges are on their feet and Randy Jackson bowed to her!

Janelle Arthur – She sings “Dumb Blonde” by Dolly Parton. This is a fun performance from Janelle, but I’m going to be harsh and I think the song choice is fitting for her tonight. She picked two song choices that she may love, but they do not appeal to the audience and I think Janelle might be in danger of going home tonight on American Idol Season 12. What do you think?

Kree Harrison – She sings “Have You Ever Been In Love?” by Celine Dion. To take on a Celine Dion song and sing it with grace and ease is an amazing feat and it is what Kree just did. This girl has some pipes on her and amazes me with how she can do it and make it look so simple…another standing ovation from the judges…enough already!

Angie Miller – She sings “Halo” by Beyonce. I don’t know about you, but I am missing that connection with Angie tonight. She won me back over last week, but tonight has been just an alright night for me from her. The judges seem to love all the songs, but I am over their standing ovations. She seemed to look weirdly in the camera, but Keith Urban said she is definitely Top 3.

Amber Holcomb – She sings “What Are You Doing The Rest of Your Life?” by Barbara Streisand. Don’t get me wrong, but this was a very good performance from Amber and she has a very solid voice, but we all know America is not responding to her and this performance is not one that will win them all over. She has great tone, but will you be voting for her tonight?
