American Idol 2012 Phillip Phillips gets only standing ovation during amazing finale performance, video below. Phillip Phillips made his final attempt at winning the “American Idol” crown on Tuesday. During part one of the show’s season finale, the former pawn shop worker performed three songs: “Stand By Me,” Billy Joel‘s “Movin’ Out” and “Home.”

The judges gave the last song, Phillips’ first single if he wins, the only standing ovation of the night. The singer’s performances were all the more remarkable as he has been plagued by health problems throughout the competition.
