So You Think You Can Dance 2014: Recap – Top 16 Performances (VIDEO)

We have a jam-packed night of television tonight, as Big Brother 2014, America’s Got Talent 2014 and So You Think You Can Dance 2014 are all on and all on at 8/7c! Last week on So You Think You Can Dance Season 11, we had another night of great performances. These dancers are truly some amazing performers and the results shock me. The night started with the bottom six dancers being announced and I was shocked, yet again. I make my predictions every week and both times I was way off. The two dancers I had going home weren’t even in the bottom six! In the end, we saw Jourdan Epstein and Stanley Glover eliminated. I thought Stanley would be one of the final guys this season, so this one surprised me!

Here we go…the Top 16 open the show with an amazing routine and we chat with the judges, but then it is time for Cat Deeley to deliver some results on SYTYCD 2014 tonight! The bottom six dancers tonight are:

Valerie & Ricky

Valerie & Ricky, Top 16 Perform ~ SYTYCD 2014 by HumanSlinky

They will be dancing a Bollywood routine from Nakul Dev Mahajan. It will be high-energy and he wants Valerie to be hot and sexy. Ricky said they are like brother and sister, so he giggles seeing her try to be sexy. Indeed, it is very high energy and they are having fun with it. Love seeing the smiles the entire dance and it is fun to watch. Is Valerie sexy in it? Nope, but I still loved it!

Bridget & Emilio

Bridget & Emilio, Top 16 Perform ~ SYTYCD 2014 by HumanSlinky

They will be dancing a contemporary piece from Travis Wall. He said this is about leaving things in the past as a memory and embracing change and the future. Emilio said that Bridget is in her comfort zone and he is way out of his. For not being his “comfort zone,” Emilio does a great job and has some great lines. Bridget is awesome and this is a great routine on SYTYCD 2014!

Tanisha & Rudy

Tanisha & Rudy, Top 16 Perform ~ SYTYCD 2014 by HumanSlinky

They will be dancing a hip hop routine from Dave Scott. He said she is a vixen with a deadly kiss and he really wants it, but not sure if he wants to die for it. It is like a black and white comic book. I am a huge fan of Rudy and it grows more and more each week. Saying that, Tanish stole the show tonight with that sexy leather outfit! This was awesome and the chemistry is amazing. Such an awesome job!

Jessica & Marcquet

Jessica & Marcquet, Top 16 Perform ~ SYTYCD 2014 by HumanSlinky

They will be dancing a Foxtrot from Dmitry Chaplin. He said that Marcquet has to be a sophisticated businessmen like Nigel. They are both amazing dancers and have great lines, but this routine requires great chemistry and they just don’t have that. Good, but nothing special.

Carly & Serge

Carly & Serge, Top 16 Perform ~ SYTYCD 2014 by HumanSlinky

They will be dancing a contemporary routine from Mandy Moore. She said this is a piece of temptation. She wants him, but he is not sure if he wants to give it up yet. This is another routine that was good and they had good moments, but I did not find myself mesmerized by it. How about you?

Emily & Teddy

Emily & Teddy, Top 16 Perform ~ SYTYCD 2014 by HumanSlinky

They will be dancing a Salsa from Jonathan Platero and Oksana Dmytrenko. They said it will be an in-your-face routine and they were scared to try the tricks at first. She does a pretty good job with it, but Teddy is just weird with it. He has some weird body movements and it doesn’t flow for him like a Salsa should. The music does not match the dance moves either.

Jacque & Zach

Jacque & Zack, Top 16 Perform ~ SYTYCD 2014 by HumanSlinky

They will be dancing a Jazz routine from Sonya Tayeh. She said it is about a couple that had a fling in the past and see each other again and they want to rekindle it for one night. She thinks Zach is killing it. I think there were moments that is was very good, but then moments that were rough to watch. He did do well and she seemed to fumble at times.

Brooklyn & Casey

Brooklyn & Casey, Top 16 Perform ~ SYTYCD 2014 by HumanSlinky

They will be dancing a hip hop routine from Will “WilldaBeast” Adama. He said this is piece is about being a beast and pulling that out of them. He told them they need to get low and explode on So You Think You Can Dance 2014! Maybe it wasn’t as hard as it could have been, but they did a good job. I liked seeing them both in this routine and they had fun with it.

Top 16 Perform ~ SYTYCD 2014, 2 Eliminated by HumanSlinky

This piece is from Sonya Tayeh and features Brooklyn, Casey, Emily, Emilio, Serge, Tanisha, Valerie and Zach. She said it would be a village of lonely people and they are in their weakest moment. They do a great job and are very in sync with each other. Tanisha is a standout for this routine and I loved it and I love Sonya!

Mini Group 2

Top 16 Perform ~ SYTYCD 2014, 2 Eliminated by HumanSlinky

This piece is from Travis Wall and features Bridget, Marcquet, Ricky, Carly, Jacque, Rudy, Jessica and Teddy, He said it is about a group of outlaws trying to escape the city. There are a ton of lifts and partnering and flinging each other around that stage! Awesome job again and this was so fun and energetic. To be honest, I was watching Teddy on this one. He was with some strong guys and he totally held his own!

Before we get to those results on SYTYCD Season 11 tonight, we get a performance from Pretty Little Liar’s Lucy Hale. Who told her she could sing, huh?

RESULTS: Nigel said America did not make it easy and it won’t get any easier, as we will lose FOUR dancers next week! The dancers going home tonight are Marcquet and Brooklyn, which was based on America’s vote only!
