Roger Ebert Dead: Film Critic Dies At Age 70
| April 4, 2013 at 4:39 PM EDTTalk about two thumbs down this Thursday, but the film critic everyone knew and loved Roger Ebert has died at the age of 70, just days after announcing that his cancer had returned and he would be taking a “leave of presence” from the Chicago Sun-Times. That is such a sad story and shows you that life is precious, as seen in Roger Ebert dead at age 70. The announcement was made by the Chicago Sun-Times.
Just on Tuesday, April 2, Ebert announced that he was taking some time back because his cancer had returned:
“It means I am not going away. My intent is to continue to write selected reviews but to leave the rest to a talented team of writers handpicked and greatly admired by me. What’s more, I’ll be able at last to do what I’ve always fantasized about doing: reviewing only the movies I want to review.”
I guess he’ll be reviewing them from up above. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time!
